4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Brought by Todd for my birthday tasting. Thanks a bunch for this Todd! Cloudy golden orange in color with a fingers worth of tight white head. Nose is ridiculously complex. It is bursting with juicy citrus fruit and some subtle grassy, citrusy hops. It reminds me kinda like Hill Farmstead Mimosa, but I think this is slightly better. Flavor is bright and tart, white wine character, citrus, and classic Jolly Pumpkin yeast. Light mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, light acidity, and a long finish. Might be over thinking this a bit, but this beer is one of the best American sours I’ve had to date. It’s so bright and juicy and just alive with flavor. Thanks a bunch for introducing this to me Todd, this was a memorable experience.

Bottle shared by craytonic. Thanks Matt!
The beer is hazy and orange, with a finger of dense, white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. The aroma offers some funky citrus, with some lemon zest and subtle spice. Lots of citrus and funk in the flavor. Delicious Brett character. Quite good. Very drinkable. Smooth on the palate, with a pleasant lingering aftertaste.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL thanks to sarro. Pours a full hazy peach with timid white foam. Nose is fresh nectar fruits, cantaloupe, squashy, roasted sweet zucchini, intense sea salted caramels. Wow. Taste is very spritely, refreshing, not actually very complex. Just ridiculously refreshing, quenching, light amount sea salt. Dusty, rindy, citrusy, juicy palate. Very refreshing. Perfect summer beer. Just a little watery for me.

Big thanks to craytonic for opening up this bottle. Served in a Tripel Karmeliet glass.
Pours peach with a good white head. Faint lacing and a bit of a collar on the way down. The nose carries a bit of light spice and very mild funk. A bit of citrus in there as well. Fairly restrained and not quite in your face like some Jolly Pumpkin offerings. Nice and balanced. Flavor has a bit of light spice plus some citrus. Light earthiness and straw. Light body with a dry finish. Very nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: deep gold, with floating brown flecks and a two-finger white head slowly shrinking. Aroma: strong aroma of orange pulp, melons, some earthy spices and a little pineapple over some traditional saison must. Taste: very tart up front, with a puckering citrus blast, followed by a bit of light crackery sweetness; the spice of green tea and peppercorns are there, but subtle. Finish: extremely dry, with the tart/sour notes remaining over a bit of barnyard funk. Notes: It’s like a sour patch kid or sweet tart candy. Very drinkable palate, but the tartness prohibits gulping. Batch 559, bottled on 22 July 2010, had it on 26 November 2011.
