| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 9, 2009 750ml bottle with a very cool label depicting the wind blowing a ship around. This beer was an opaque red color with a thin white head resting across the top. The smell was really good and made me think of fruit, especially cherries. The taste was cherries, tart, sour, but not overpowering.I’m not sure I tasted the oak. I especially liked the mouthfeel as the carbonation seemed bubbly and perfect for this beer. This beer just got better and better as it warmed. I have been consistently impressed by the Jolly Pumpkin beers and I am glad they came to Colorado. This beer was excellent and worth the price of admission.

I was a little disappointed that the price went up to $14.99 but since this is my favorite JP beer I caved. This was every bit as good as I remembered from last year. Tart smell, nice sour cherry flavor, some oak this time, the sourness is perfect. This is so easy to drink and a wonderful beer. Still my favorite from JP.
01/25/09 2007 bottle thanks to moejuck
Smells acidic like tomatos or ketchup, slight bit of oak and funk, smells really good. Tart but not sour, very easy to drink, subtle flavors, might be better fresh but it holds up well after 20 months or so.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Deep ruby brown with generous carbonation and slow foamy legs. Pleasantly sour aroma, reminiscent of both lemons and limes. Sour overall taste, with most powerful onset, and understated, refreshingly tart aftertaste. Sourness, and citrus flavors disguise both malts and alcohol, with a slight twinge of sulphur. 鶚/348) enjoyed on 8.9.09 HonkeyBra (1323), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2009 They had bottles of this at the hop cat and I didnt mind dropping 17 bucks on one. Dark amber pour with white head. Aroma of jolly pumpkin funk, apples, crackers, bread. A bit spicey and woody. Flavor is stunning. Sour and tart, fruity. Lots of notes of cherry, apple, and other fruits. Drank a whole 750 of this and still wanted more. The best beer of the night by far. changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Updated: Sep 6, 2009Bottle from Knightly. Why did I wait this long to pick up a bottle? Pours a dark amber color with a nice fluffy head. Good retention the whole way through. The aroma shows flowers, brett, apples, and a lesser dark fruit scent. Flavors are nicely tart and sour with apples, pears and cherries. Lots of brett and very dry in the finish. Everything meshes really well here. YUM, this is delicous! A little expensive, yeah, but I want more! jimmack34 (566), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Pours dark amber brown with a decent beige head. Smells of sour apple bubble gum and spiced malt. Tastes like sour apples, sour grape, some smoked wood, some spice, slightly citrusy, tart, very acidic. White wine-like dry finsh. This is the first beer of this style that I have tryed and it is overwhelmingly good. Its not like anything Ive tried. Very complex and very unusual. Awesome. Dedollewaitor (3650), Odense, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2009 75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a short lasting tan head. Aroma is sour, fruity and slight wooden to sulphorish. That sourness in Jolly Pumpkin beers really remind me about infections rather than complex wild brett fermentation. Fruity, sulphorish and slight wooden flavoured. Vague peppery and yeasty flavoured. Hint of cherry like notes. Dry, mild sulphorish and acidic finish.
