4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Blend 1, bottled 2/2013. Complex and hard to define.. though a very enjoyable sour. Subtle vinous aromas and flavors consisting of subtle dark cherries and damp wood, though unlike a Flanders sour. More subtle, undefinable nuances.. Maybe some cranberry, strawberry and other berry flavors.. A deep earthy, yeast component is also present, though very much in check and balanced with other layers. A very enjoyable sour, that I think may be under-appreciated in my neck of the woods, as it sells slowly. Definitely now one of my favorite JP's.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from AJs. Pours a reddish brown with a small light tan head. Nose is apple, pear, lightly acetic with wood and a bit of funk. Sweet and sour with more apple, cherry, barnyard, oak, earth, soft maltiness underneath and some bitterness. Definitely has the JP flavor profile. Finishes clean and fairly crisp and dry. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours orange-brown body with thick creamy head with nice lacing. Smells of spicy apple, dark fruit and cherries. Tastes the same with hints of cinnamon and spices. There’s a lot going on here, and it’s all good. Not usually my choice of beer.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bomber at Jerry’s. Hazy, but brilliant brown with modest, frothy, tan head (barrel-aged) / Sour, acidic nose of orchard fruit, caramel, / Medium body, soft carbonation, sour, just a hint of sweetness so mostly dry and woody, solid malts, excellent balance and bitter finish / Flavors of turning apple, cherry, oak, caramel, raisin, rose hip, chrysanthemum, leather, light old sweater / Does it get any better than JP?
