Poured from bottle, pours a murky brown with a thin off white head, the aroma is very tart and sour on the nose with some fruit coming trough too, the flavor has the Brett on the front end with a tart and fruity finish with some oak and vanilla as well. really tasty, wish this wasn’t $16 or else I would buy it more often.

Bottle: Murky brown, almost swamp watery with a slightly jaundice & beige-tinted cap that fizzles quickly to a thin collar. Ugly duckling. Lovely tart aroma filled with apple skins, cherry skins, vinegar, drying oak staves, & a tangy, lactic sourness. Pungent, yet inviting. Nice back-end cork & wet hay funk. Each sip has a nice bite of acidic sourness out of the gate with a huge mountain of tangy, sharp, tannic woody notes alongside it. Apple, red grape, acetic sourness & vinegar, moderate vinousness, damp cellar floor funk, musty floral tones, all leading into an uber-dry & modestly funky finish. Corky, fruity, acidic, acetic, lactic, tangy, tart, tannic, dry, lovely. Great stuff.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Bretty caramel aroma, funk, hay, grains, barnyard. Taste upfront is very well balanced tartness which turns into dry brett barnyard and some refreshing floral peach like notes. Lemony with some light brett and funk.

Poured from bomber into tulip. This was an interesting beer for sure. A tart aroma gives way to an effervescent beer that is mild In flavor but still quite complex. It's earthy with a tinge of sourness. Honestly, I could have taken even more sourness in this. The oak comes through big time, working very well in the beginning and middle of the taste, but getting a little overbearing in the finish. That combined with a baking soda like bitterness in the finish downgrades this a bit for me. Still good.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Schouskjelleren, october 17th 2014. Murky brown body with a small beige head. Fruity tart aroma, berries, caramel. Taste of oak, funky and bretty with a good amount of malt sweetness, lemons and berries. Not as sour as many Jolly Pumpkins but still recognisable, herbal funky finish. Really pleasant.

75cl bottle. It pours a hazy dark amber ruby-ish color with a small off-white head. Aroma is funky, musty, lemony, woody with some tart cherries and wine vinegar. Taste is mildly sweet with more cherries, and tart with funky lemon tanginess. Body is medium with lively carbonation. Overall, hard to get it wrong for JP it looks like.

Bottle from Corvallis Brew Supply, Corvallis. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color, lots of head. Aroma is dry and stiff, attenuated yeast driven character, a wee but of funk. Body is arch and dry, with a sharp doughiness, finishing crisply. This is top notch stuff.

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours hazy goldenish reddish brown with a rather small frothy and bubbly beige head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is funky, slightly malty and tiny fruity with dark bread, cereal, lemon juice, raisins, cherry pits, leather, moist wood, soil, barnyard, hay, liquorice root, black pepper corns, kumquats and lemon zest. Taste is sour, funky, slightly malty and slightly fruity with dark bread, caramel, cereal, lemon juice, unripe grapes, sour cherries, black currants, moist wood, barnyard, leather, hay, soil, lemon zest and hints of balsamic vinegar. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, vinous and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour, funky, slightly malty and tiny fruity with dark bread, cereal, lemon juice, unripe grapes, sour cherries, moist wood, moist soil, barnyard, hay, leather, lemon zest and hints of balsamic vinegar. Tasty sour amber saison / flemish red hybrid…
