We’ve teamed up with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales to create a special collaborative oak aged ale with plums, brewed to celebrate Plum Market’s 5 year anniversary. The special sour blend is aged on organic Royal Diamond plums; it’s an amber with a hint of roast, malty, sweet, and sour, and the delicate aroma and delicious flavor of more plums than you can shake a stick at.

Thanks, Jim! Served in a Jolly Pumpkin tulip. Nose has a bit of plum skin; fruit not overpowering. Dry bread. Flavor has some plum tannin. Light-medium body. No real funk.

750mL Bottle. Thanks so much Sean! Bushy, fervent and wild cherry acid aroma. Some plum juice lingers, but I wouldn’t call the character bold. Palate moves along more mildly. The eccentric strength of the aroma lays down to a more watery, wistful texture and a lack of punch. This might be the first JP beer that I would call thin. Some oaky dust, faded grasses, and some mouth puckering astringency on the sides of the tongue. Sadly, an underwhelming effort. My hopes must have been too high.

Bottle @ Fanø Slumber Party, 2012. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Dark fruit, oak and funk. Tart, crisp and dry. Not overly complex like a normal J.P but quite lovely and drinkable.

transparent red copper, thin fizzy white dissipates quickly to a thin ring. Nose is woody, manure, spiced and light berry acetic. Woody front, berries mid, more spice and soft peach finish with Brett chalkiness. Flavor a bit too full for palate, but well balanced, intriguing. Bit watery.

Bottle @ Fanø Slumber Party, 2012.
Pours hazy orange with a small, white film head. Aroma has dryness, soft vinegar, caramel, funk, dark fruits. Medium carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, lots of oak, light funk. Mild, dark fruits appear along with some mild vinious tones. Plumjuice. Good balance, even if it not a very sour "sour ale".

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of FrumptyDumpty. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with an off-white head. Nose has a little Brett, yeast and brown sugar. Light body, a little woody, again brown sugar and a little lactic tartness. Ends dry but not overly sour at all. Perhaps a good beginners Sour. 280712
