Tmoney99 (3429), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 9, 2008 Bomber bottle from Root Cellar. Pours a cloudy brown color with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good sour fruit and woody aroma. Medium body. Medium sour hoppy flavor with a good solid balanced sour fruit finish of long duration. Another very interesting beer from this brewer.
jstraw (415), Oak Park, Illinois, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bomber at Jerry’s. Dark caramel with big, foamy beige head / Floral, tart, apple nose / Medium body, fruity & lushly hoppy, with long, tart, bitter finish / Flavors of apples, dry hops, cherries, caramel, and coriander / A bitter? Only in the JP universe. Perfection. MrBendo (976), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jul 20, 2008 Thanks to RagallachMC for the 750ml. Hazy orange/copper color with a large, foamy head and no gush (you gotta throw that in for J.P.). Aroma was standard J.P. brett, A bit of caramel and a lot of grassy hops. Very dry, crisp on the tongue. Very nice taste. pint_size (1001), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2008 6-27-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to knight84
Caramel dark brown amber in color with a thin white head. Smell is sweet and a touch funky as well. Flavor is light and mild with a tiny hop presence and yet a touch more funk here too. Overall, decent just not as bold as I’d hoped for. Taverner (417), San Ramon, California, USA Jul 14, 2008 OMG - I think I’m in love. This beer is a perfect marriage of bretts and hops. Dry like a good saison should be, full of bretts like a good sour and full of hops like an IPA! Pours a copper with minimal head. Aroma is bretts and hops. Flavor is the acidic sourness from the yeast and hoppy bitterness from the hops. Floral hops abound in this one. I can taste notes of hay and grass, farmhouse, leafy autumn evenings and freshly mowed lawns. WeeHeavySD (1564), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 13, 2008 750 provided by Dalekliz from her recent trip, thank you Liz, I’ve been looking for this for a while, not the style that intrigued me but the brewery’s style. Batch 267, 268. Pours dark amber with a 2 finger frothy smooth tan head. Nose is malty and sweet with some nice funk. The taste is very much a bitter with added JP funkyness. Damn this is a great beer, lots of character here.
