Commercial Description:
Bam is an extra special dog. After surviving being struck by a car, he daily somehow manages to avoid being carried away by the largish birds of prey gliding overhead, riding unseen thermals. Bam's tenacity seems only to be surpassed by his oversized personality. Join us in this celebration of his excess. More malt, more hops, same vivacious personality.

Bottle: Batch 267,268: Dirty cola, not as dark tho, sediment abounds, large rocky sand colored head, sticky lacing.   Basement, funk, dankness on the nose.   A little powdery sugar pixie stix aroma as well.   Hmm, had this bottle for over a year and the hop aspect has certianly died down.   Very muted, however it is much more like a Bitter at this time.   Seems a little stale however, but it still has this English Bitter Ale quality to it.   Fairly tasty!

Batch 288/289. Bottle while chilling at home. Had this with tuna burgers and stir fry broccoli - a great pairing! It’s like a little Orval - hazy amber, huge foamy head, lemony brett nose, dry and peppery, clean and drinkable, not as much depth as Orval but still very nice.

Bottle. White tag on the bag shows "Batch 288/289". Pours a largely foamy copper color with a huge beige head. Aroma is very spicy and peppery with funky yeast notes, fruit, flower hops, earthy notes and light caramel. Taste is strong funky yeast, peppery notes, spicy and floral hops, light toffee, dried fruit and tea leaves. Body is surprisingly lighter than expected. It’s almost "airy". Strong bubbly carbonation. Ends with more spicy hops, strong funky yeast, caramel, light toffee, floral hops, tea leaves, earth and damp wood.

Exploded out of the bottle. Inches of white, frothy foam. Aroma tart, fruity and crab apple - totally divorced from taste. Bretty, funky flavor is at first overpowered by heavy bitterness. But thin bodied and mellows into quite refreshing and drinkable. Not my favorite Jolly Pumpkin, but that’s a high bar.

Batch 374/375. Dark brown with beige head. Acidic aroma of berries, fruit and yeast with some sweetness as well. Flavour is fruity with yeast, berries and a good bitterness.

A clear light brown colored beer, with a huge light beige head. The aroma of bitter hops, with malts and a little flowers. The taste of bitterness, with fruits and notes of spices. The aftertaste is bitter. The beer reminds me a little at light Orval.

Bottle. As with every single Jolly Pumpkin offering I’ve had, this came out of the bottle with a volcanic torrent of foam, that clung to the side of the glass for dear life while it died away. And the prototypical Jolly Pumpkin aroma of farmhouse yeast oozes to my olfactory senses. The beer carries a funky factor to be sure, with a very, very light body -- nectar-sweet, with the earthy yeastiness predominating. (#3740, 11/15/2009)

Pours a hazy brown-amber with a huge off white head. Tight bubble pattern makes the head cling to the glass in clumps and chunks. Strong aroma of brett. Can’t really decifer much more because brett is so strong. Sweet, woody, and slightly fruity flavor. Finishes soapy and bitter. Strong carbonation.
