Autumn Fire
Ale brewed with chestnut and spices
To catch a bit of soft radiance in each special bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malts lead smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a shore of distant forgotten spice. A beer to contemplate and enjoy!

Amber pour, huge very carbonated white head, pour this slow! Aroma is cherries, apple cider, and very yeast and perfumey. Flavor is really unique caramel malts, almost a drier raspberry malt profile, with a nutty finish. Very drinkable, very smooth, itís really quenching my thirst and went extremely well with steak & potatoes I know you could say that about water, pop, or any other crappy beer but no this was a showcase of how beer goes with food. Fruity but in a drier way where it has a slight sourness but not much. Again more fruits with apples, pears, raspberries, cherries, leading to a nutty biscuity finish and a dry fruity aftertaste. Really Iím having a very hard time describing this beer itís so freakin complex, itís delicious, a summer thirst quencher, a beer with my meal, or just a dessert all on itís own this beer rules. The carbonation is very big but really it helps highlight the complexities of this delight. The more it warms the fruits really come out and I think I like this beer colder. Some bitter fruitness barley-wine like is coming through and the fruits are getting sharper. What needs to be said is try this beer, it will open up your mind. This isnít the best tasting beer Iíve had but itís so complex and should be tried at least one, really this beer is stunning.

Damn this one gushed on me. After fighting that crap it turned out to be a little flat obviously but decent the rest of the way. Yeast aromas and flavors dominate but there are also subtle caramel flavors hidden in there. Medium bodied with a slightly bitter finish. Leaves a fruity sweet residue on the palate.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 thanks to the beermate. Cinamon and nutmeg, allspice, cardomom, corriander in the aroma, spicy and sweet with some earthy sourness remeniecent of a Fantome. Pours amber/brown with a huge white head, the bottle foamed over with the cap was popped off. Sweet upfront, malty with some caramel flavor, dry and spicy, then finishes sour and dry. Excellent beer, complex but still enjpyable and refreshing. The more it warms the more fruit comes out, some apple skin and sweet citrus. I love Jolly Pumpkin!!!

25.4 oz bottle. Started foaming as soon as the cap was cracked. Had to suck suds a while to get it to settle down as it kept bubbling up the bottle neck even after a glass was poured. Foggy pink brown with a rocky tan head that leaves chunky striations. Candied violets, sweet funk, barnyard and some hay. Lightly sour with a dusty peach pit and nectarine skin tartness. Mild bitter nutmeg finish. Soft, puffy carb; reminds me of meringue cookies.

Has the definite presence of malts and spices, I can feel the heat the spices on the back of my throat. The head pour outs and just stays there. however the mild sour taste of the beer sorta ruins this for me. not really for me.

The aroma has some nuts but mostly sourness, yeast, and spice. The appearance is hazy amber with a huge foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is typical for the style. You can tell itís a quality beer but it just doesnít taste that great.

Glowing amber. Large, frothy, off white head. Nose of sour, funky yeast, toasted nuts, spices, and bready malt. The brett is really kickin in this one after almost a year. Same flavors as above with the sourness dominating, some earth and oak in there as well. Medium body, well carbonated. Tasty brew.

This Belgian Ale pours a medium amber color from a 750ml bottle. Large to huge sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Hops are floral. Lively carbonation. Nice balance. It starts kind of fruity and sweet and finishes a touch tart. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

Pours a deep hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma is malts, apples, and figs. Flavor is malty, apples, figs, and some roastyness.

Enjoyed at NoogFest III. 750ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with a big frothy head that never stops coming. Fairly light aroma with sweet hints of fruit and spicy yeast. Apple (?). The flavor is probably the best Iíve had from a Jolly Pumpkin. Light spice and lemon fruit with that signature Jolly Pumpkin yeasty funky business. Nothing over powering like many of their others IMO. Saison like actually and enjoyable in flavor. Way too carbonated for me though (as is usual for their beers). However, overall I liked this one. It was refreshing.
