Commercial Description:
Autumn Fire
Ale brewed with chestnut and spices
To catch a bit of soft radiance in each special bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malts lead smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a shore of distant forgotten spice. A beer to contemplate and enjoy!

Orange-amber in colour with a very large and long lasting white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is yeasty, light spice, berries, some wood with a moderate sweetness. The flavour is yeasty/musty, quite fruity, apple and green grape tartness, very light spice but the sweetness is a bit more pronounced. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, high carbonation. Finishes lightly spicy, yeasty and quite long.

This had some insane carbonation making it very hard to pour. Toning that down will make this a bit more drinkable.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with Beerlando, thanks Bryan.
Opened on December 15, 2008.
Bottle from 2007.

Poured ruby red with fluffy white head. Aroma of spices. Maybe cinnamon. Somewhat spicy with some sweet finish. Cinnamon present.

Poured dark orange. Sour, yeasty aroma. Light-medium body, very dry mouthfeel. Funky palate, almost gueze-like. Cherry undertones, agressive yeast throughout. Dry finish. Very drinkable ale...

Hazy tawny-amber pour, irrationally exuberant beige head, rocky chunks of lace. Aroma has tart fruits, wild yeast, carbonation. Flavor is distinctly cidery, tart, dry, lots of apple peel, touch of citrus. Subdued worty malt backbone. Earthy notes, dust and wild yeast funk, creep in towards the finish. The dryness and apple peel notes tread just a little too close to a chemical heat. Medium body. Soft, sudsy mouthfeel.

750ml bottle poured into a shaker. This beer pours orange-yellow and murky with a large creamy head. The aroma is tart and fruity. This is a pretty sour beer but it has a saison feel to it. It’s okay but not really my style.

Poured a nice amber/brown with a thin white head. Aroma was a bit of sour funk with some nice undertones of malt, a little cinnamon maybe? Flavor was sour brett yeast on the front (not overwhelming in the slightest though), but there were a lot of other things playing in the background. A nit nutty, a nit of a tannin kick, a little vanilla. Very nice beer from Jolly Pumpkin.

Plesantly tart, but in no way overbearing. Somewhat sour reminicent of my favorite style (Flemish). A tasty brew not to be missed by fans of the JP.
