Jan 17, 2009 Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a hazy dark golden color with amber highlights and a thin white head. Aroma is malty and spicy with notes of brett, bread, spice, flowers, yeast, floral hops. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of spice, honey, brett and nuts. Generally medium body with a pleasing sweet brett finish.

Jan 15, 2009 Batch #336. Love or hate JP beers.
I was intrigued by the chestnut description, thinking this would be a bombastic style so often found in the Italian beers. No! Once again JP floods the aroma with the sour brett aroma, leaving almost no nose to be enjoyed. You take load of brett + slight chestnut and that sums up the aroma. It’s rather disappointing that JP keep doing this to all of their beers.
Pours hazy golden with white head.
Aroma as mentioned earlier is just filed with brett, and has very faint notes of the chestnut and spices.
Taste was rather fruity, with lingering notes of cherry, light tartness with very light chestnut.
Just too much of brett, way too much of it, please let me enjoy the beer!

Jan 15, 2009 Thanks sea bass for the share. Pours hazy clumpy yellow-brown with aroma of vinegar and sour fruit with noticeable spice. Flavor is dry vinegary, spicy bretty sour. Not bad, but not my favorite.

Jan 14, 2009 Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Pours a hazy mango and copper color, with a fizzy white head and lacing. Aromas of spicy hoppiness, and mostly brett, dry clove, and cinnamon. Some apple cider too. Flavor is very dry with a bretty element with bread, cereal, and a spicy body gives way to a crunchy interesting finish. Very interesting character, doesn’t work THAT well but it’s still drinkable.

Jan 12, 2009 Bottle: Poured a dark orange with a tan head. The aroma was fruity (apples), oak, and spices. The flavor was somewhat tart, dry oak with a hint of apple spice, nuts and cinnamon. Overall, a really tasty brew, high quality and sophisticated.

Dec 31, 2008 Bottle. Batch 336. Rich amber beer with a light tan head. Tart, light malt, light fruity (apple and light dark fruit) aroma with light spice. Tart, light berry flavor with spice. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Tart, light berry, spice, malt, and light caramel lingers.

Dec 30, 2008 Slightly hazy yellow gold pour with a big rocky white head. The aroma has the same sour apple right upfront that I get from all JP beers. There’s also some various hints of spice, chestnut, coriander, lemon and orange zest, and some pepper. Mouth puckering sourness hits the taste buds first and then fades to grassy, floral hops, soft caramel and biscuit, some ripe fruits, damp oak, citrus, and apple cider vinegar. Dry medium body with lots of carbonation. Im really a little amazed at how delicate the numerous flavors are in this and yet the sourness is still quite strong.

Dec 26, 2008 Bottle- 3rd bottling-2007: Seems like it may have leaked during shipping- there was a couple of inches of air space in the bottle. It also seemed less carbonated than the average Jolly Pumpkin offering. Pours a cloudy murky orange with a white dense film of head. Bright and zesty aroma- Lemon rind, that musty Jolly Pumpkin yeast, some brett, and peppery citrus spiciness. Light and fluffy, crisp feeling. Zesty and spicy taste with lightly tart citrus and an underlying brett character. Some underlying oak meshes with grapefruit flavors. Again, seemed a bit less carbonated, and seemed to be missing much of the volume in the bottle, which leads me to believe it had leaked during transport. Still very tasty, I just want to revisit this one.
