Autumn Fire
Ale brewed with chestnut and spices
To catch a bit of soft radiance in each special bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malts lead smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a shore of distant forgotten spice. A beer to contemplate and enjoy!

Glowing amber. Large, frothy, off white head. Nose of sour, funky yeast, toasted nuts, spices, and bready malt. The brett is really kickin in this one after almost a year. Same flavors as above with the sourness dominating, some earth and oak in there as well. Medium body, well carbonated. Tasty brew.

Nice thin head coats this slightly hazy amber colored ale. Aroma is yeast and spice. Taste is strong fruit with a sweet finish. Mild carbonation and a light mouthfeel make the beer smooth. Some tartness distracts but you get kinda used to it.

Pours a rich amber color with a sour pumpkin smell. Taste is clean, simple and light pumpkinly. A quickly dissolving aftertaste, that leaves a light rose petal flavor on the tongue. Almost a sweet caramel flavor in the aftertaste, that goes away too fast...

Bottle purchase at Hoppiness beer store in Koper/Capidistria-Slovenia, consumed in Serbia. Pours amber color, quite cloudy with a tick off white foam. Nose: quite a distinctive wild sourness, berries, macerated grapes, a hint of caramel. Loads of wild mint as well. Mouth: lively carbonated, quite watery, spicy after taste, too much herbal in the end. Bit rough...for me. Did not get the chestnuts but appreciated the concept all in all. It talks to autumn in a way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml from kryptic. Batch 244, 245. Damn I love this brewery. You know you’ve crossed fully over into beer geekdom when you get goosebumps at the mere thought of opening a bottle. This is one of those bottles. Beautiful bretty, woody and slightly funky nose. Plenty of spicy yeast, mustard and cheese. Pours a a slightly hazy bright copper with a huge bright white head. Perfect amount of tartness on the palate. Not overpowering and quite pleasant. New oak, spice (fennel?), toasted nuts, toasted malt. Mmmmm. Delicious. Creamy, fairly dry with just the right amount of carbonation as to not be distracting. Wonderful!

Bottle; pour is murky dark golden with a fine bubbled off white head in this tulip. Retention is fairly nice, with some sticky lacing present. the nose is lemon grass, the distinct jolly pumpkin funk, with nutty brown malts. spicy pepper on the tongue, oak tannins and general nutty notes. there is a lingering bitterness as the brew finishes. perhaps slightly lacking overall, but another nice one from jp.
