COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Autumn Fire
Ale brewed with chestnut and spices
To catch a bit of soft radiance in each special bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malts lead smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a shore of distant forgotten spice. A beer to contemplate and enjoy!

Hazy amber colour. Fairly funky, oaky aroma. Spicy flavour, aggressively yeasty with light backing maltiness and a tart finish. Interesting but I’m not big on the aggressive yeastiness.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2009 Clear copper color with a white head. Aroma of yeast, spices, some sourness and malt. Flavor of yeast, spices and sourness with a hoppy finish.

Bottled (Pikkulintu, 0,75 ltr). Hazy orange color, small off-white head. Very herbal, hayish, a bit perfumic nose. Sour, grapefruity, some tangerine peel, vanilla. Herbal-spicey cooking, weird beer. It’s like some Fantome saisons.

Light hazy amber colour with a beige head. Malty, light tart and fruity aroma with a sweet note. Malty, sweet flavor with a wellbalanced fruity note. Light dry and yeasty finish.

Cuvee de autumn fire, a funky jolly pumpkin. Not as vinegary, bold, as the brown ale had earlier in the tasting. Orangey colour. Spicey, hint of roast, drinkable.

The medicinal aroma of this ale took away from my enjoyment. Hazy brown with a large, good-lacing beige head, it smells of anise, oak, pepper, unripe sour cherries, and chewed mint leaves. There’s a slight sourness to the flavor that combines all the elements of the aroma, adds a quietly sweet malt, and has a touch of alcohol. Obviously well crafted, but this will probably be the only time that I will drink it.

750 ml. bottle. Batch 244, 245. Shared with Gabe. Pours a tiny bubbled, lasting white head, with sea foam lacing, over a cloudy, gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is barnyard, lemon, apple....taste is light, almost sweet apple/ lemon then puckering sour, followed by a slightly bitter barnyard finish....mouth feel is light and carbonation low. This is a pleasant, but not overly complex, Sour Ale. The Brett qualities are quite dominant. BJCP 8/3/13/4/7

Bottle pours an off white with a lively head. Very light and well carbonated. Spicy as in peppery more than anything else. Decent but not complex nor real drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of the Merrit Island tasting hosted by mcbackus. Poured a golden orange color. Smell was woody and tart. Flavor was sweet sweet malts with a hint of sour apple. I like the sweet and malty ones so this one was okay in my book!
