Autumn Fire
Ale brewed with chestnut and spices
To catch a bit of soft radiance in each special bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malts lead smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a shore of distant forgotten spice. A beer to contemplate and enjoy!

Bottled. Still pour with fine microbubbles, quite different appearance than what others have noted here. Hazy orange-amber color. Lovely spiced aroma of holiday spices, pear, and citrus. Some funk to the aroma as well, with a subtle oak nose. Initial flavor has a smooth nutty malt tone with lemon citrus in the mix, followed by more bread-like yeasty tones with a lightly bitter, sour finish. The tartness is balanced well, but I get a weird metallic finish at some points. Very carbonated. Enjoyable.

light amber appearance with solid white head. flavor is incredibly unique, tasting almost like a gueze with acidic and sharp sourness that finishes very dry with some oak likely from the chestnut. a very enjoyable brew.

This copper ale poured with a decent off-white head and a sour aroma. The flavor, too, is mildly sour over an interesting malt base. There are some nice spices to enhance the recipe.

Bottle. (Batch 244/245). Pour is a cloudy amber with streams of small bubbles and a head that is small for JP... sits at about two fingers. Aromas are skunky funk with an acidic edge. Falvor holds true to the aroma and sour and funk dominate... lemon peel and oak in the finish.

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Hazy dark orange body with a lot of bubbles. Bitter sweett aroma of oranges grapefruit and hints of coriander. Flavor as indicated by the aroma, rather hoppy lemon grapefruit peach acidic with a bit of coriander. Low carbonation and a long aftertaste.

Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Pours a hazy mango and copper color, with a fizzy white head and lacing. Aromas of spicy hoppiness, and mostly brett, dry clove, and cinnamon. Some apple cider too. Flavor is very dry with a bretty element with bread, cereal, and a spicy body gives way to a crunchy interesting finish. Very interesting character, doesn’t work THAT well but it’s still drinkable.

Plesantly tart, but in no way overbearing. Somewhat sour reminicent of my favorite style (Flemish). A tasty brew not to be missed by fans of the JP.

Orange-amber in colour with a very large and long lasting white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is yeasty, light spice, berries, some wood with a moderate sweetness. The flavour is yeasty/musty, quite fruity, apple and green grape tartness, very light spice but the sweetness is a bit more pronounced. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, high carbonation. Finishes lightly spicy, yeasty and quite long.

This had some insane carbonation making it very hard to pour. Toning that down will make this a bit more drinkable.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with Beerlando, thanks Bryan.
Opened on December 15, 2008.
Bottle from 2007.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours clear amber with a nice, staying, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has notes of oranges, chestnuts, strawberries, ginger and brett. Some wood in there as well. Fine, dry mouthfeel. Light with a subtle small-bubbled carbonation. Flavour has some brett or white wine tartness, sweet caramel, nuts, ginger and yeast. Long, lingering, light tart aftertaste. Very drinkable.
