Commercial Description:
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

Carmelly appearance, looks delicious if that’s possible. Has a nice funky aroma, not too overpowering with some hints of the barrel and kindof musty. Balanced sourness, some sort of lingering bitterness, can’t really tell if it’s from the hops. Not a fan of the style, but pretty tasty

Body is ruby color with only a little bit of off white head around the outside of the glass. Aroma is fully of cherries, wood, and vinegar. Very carbonated feeling on the front end, but the bubbles are quickly dissipating. The flavor is pretty sour with a bit of a red wine vinegar taste, then has a little metallic chalky finish.

Amber chestnut hazy color, medium off white head with lots of lacing. Notes of earthy, and malty, some wood, and fruity base notes. Not bad but a bit disappointing. I think I could craft this blend with the dregs of any tasting.

Incredibly frothy and thick head with a murky copper liquid and active carbonation. Smells great with some apple and vinegar. The wood character is present but light. Flavor is a little weaker than I would have liked. What’s there is good, it just seems so faint. Very dry finish. Glad I tried it, but probably won’t seek this one out again.

bottle - poured clear reddish copper color with large foamy head. Aroma - overly ripe apples and also like wood. Must be the oak barrels they aged it in Flavor - alcohol, green apple skins and definite woodsy taste. Palate - medium mouthfeel with sour apple flavor on tongue. Oak barrel ageing leaves slight smokey tongue. Carbonation is quite high and finish is dry. Overall - This style of beer reminds me more of a wine cooler or a apple wine. Good for style but not really the beer I prefer.

750 mL bottle shared by Alraomon. Thanks! Pours a hazy reddish brown color. Good head retention and excellent lacing. Aroma is funky and fruity with notes of cherries and berries. Taste is funk, green apple, berries, butterscotch, olive, spice, caramel. Medium bodied.

Clear amber with a frothy head. Nice funky barnyard aromas with tart apple peel, raspberry and cherry. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Flavor is dry and tart citrus fruit, apple and cherry, with some lightly sour wet wood in the finish. Great dry and sour taste with out the aspirin burn, damn near perfect.
