Commercial Description:
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

Crushed with Jakebra. Kinda sour apple nose. Very subtle for a sour ale. Not as intense as others. Kinda funky and earthy, and very creamy.

Pours a rusty color with a white head. Aroma is very earthy with oak, dark fruit, and malt. Taste was extremely earthy. Taste is of dark fruit soaked in booze. Notes of oak, malt, and pine. Lingering oakiness. Warming booze feel. Creamy and sticky mouthfeel. Very drinkable.

Batch 7. Pours a red tinted clear light brown with fine frothy white head. Love the aroma, very woody, lightly acidic, hint of funky cheese, varnish, and some tart fruits, maybe cherries. Flavor is sooo mild, very drinkable and sooo good. Perfect moderate amount of cheesy funky woody light tart sourness. Great body, medium light and very crisp. Fantastic beer.

Well, first off I am very happy to say that this stuff is brewed about a half hour southwest from my house, so I know its super local, which is awesome. Second, This stuff is epic. I really dont know how to describe it. Its sweet, yet sour, and dry, yet drinkable. It smells like a good chardonay, and with all that going on its perfectly balanced. I can honestly say Ive never had anything quite like this. Cheers, and thanks to my dad and sister for picking out a perfect christmas time brew. Cheers!

Bottle. Sweet-sour aroma of fruits. Hazy copper-amber body, enormous light tan head. Highly carbonated mouthfeel. Flavor is powerful, fruity, semi-sweet and tart. Very pleasing.

(Bottle, blend 4/2008, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-12-05) Ruby red and clear. Hardly any head. Sour, fruity and rather complex nose. Full bodied and really dry palate with medium carbonation. Sourness, bitterness, some fruitiness, sweetness, wood and malts in taste. Sour and bitter aftertaste.

Flaske.

Botella, courtesy of Pinball. Unclear red-brown colour with a small creamy beige head. Fruity, sweet, mild sour aroma with a spice touch. Good mouthfeel. Fruity, sour, bit yeasty, , malty plesant dry lightly bitter flavour. Dry fruity-sour lightly sweet finish with a little spice.
