Pinball (2685), Allerød, Denmark Dec 15, 2008 bottle 60cl shared with faroeviking at home.
aroma is spicy sourish, not that strong. citrussy notes in there.
appears unclear red brown, large head.
flavor is sort of like beer and sour fruit beer mixed, aftertaste gets dry then sweeter like apple. not much acid, but the sourness is nice and refined, alc. well hidden. lassem (296), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 14, 2008 Appears pretty muddy or dark cloudy with a perfumic nose. The palate appears rather waterish but the taste houners the beer with an interesting complexity. I taste spices, chives, ports, and some alcohol that makes me think of american brandys. The finish is dominated with alcohol too together with some vanilla timsilvia32 (445), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Dec 11, 2008 Cloudy orange pour, large lasting whitish head. Astringent fruit ester, yeasty aromas. Heavy sour fruit flavors. Almost overly carbonated in the mouth. Yeasty, improves slightly as it warms with some citrus and red fruits coming through, but it is overwhelmed by the sour to me. A wild ale, but just another typical belgian triple or double. Not my cup of tea. Just way too sour, which I guess is how its supposed to be. MOboy (446), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Dec 7, 2008 Pours a hazy garnet with a BIG rocky, tan foam. This was a gusher and continued to creep its way out of the bottle well after the first glass was poured. The aroma is sour with hints of raspberry, rum, fruitcake. The flavor is sour, wood tannin, grape, brown sugar bp (451), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 5, 2008 Bottle: came bursting out of the bottle when opened, pours a hazy brownish-orange with a frothy white head, fruity, spiced, sour aroma, taste is mildly sour with some of the oak coming through after the initial sour burst, lots of carbonation with a thin mouthfeel. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Dec 3, 2008 Sparkling garnet with a minimal 1/8 inch ivory head. Starts with a sour that locks the jaw, then develops into a beer with complexity. Caramel, toffee, even perhaps a bit of oak. Nose is slightly yeasty, biscuity, and spicy. Good mouthfeel. Yum. RIXbeer (102), USA Nov 28, 2008 Bright, cloudy, amber and 1 thin finger of cream-like head with fast popping bubbles as the head collapses into a very frothy looking head. Very inviting. An awesome sourness with some nice yeasty wildness formally found in lambics and sours made with brett. For someone that likes sours, this beers smells great! The sourness is very bold up front with a decent amount of carbonation but not overwhelming by any means. I think that this beer could be more. The aroma suggests that it should be. Almost a sour, quiet wild and yet still tame enough and pedestrian enough that someone not into crazy wild sours would still appreciate. My favorite from this brewery so far. Now I can say that the alcohol isn’t present in the aroma, or taste but you can feel it. It warms the mouth, throat and yes, the soul. This is one warming beer I think would woop your ass if you stopped payin attention to how much you’ve had. Drink 1....with a friend if you like...
