xibalba89 (147), New York, New York, USA Sep 24, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2008Pours an orange amber with a big head. Really funky aroma, lots of yeast, spices and citrus. The flavor is nice and spicy, with lots of geuze-like tartness. A solid beer. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Sep 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep amber with a red hew & a creamy small & stable head. Nose is earthy, tart, fruity cherries & oaky. Dry, fruity & tart taste with hints of vanilla. Very nice! yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 21, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy amber to brown with thick off-white head. Aroma is dry wooden, brett and mild wineous fruity. Dry sulphorish flavoured with a nice dry brett flavour to a smooth wineous fruity base. A bit light bodied yet nicely counter balanced by a lot of flavours rather than a thick malt backbone. Lingering fruity and sulphorish from the back of the nose. Ends dry and wooden. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Sep 19, 2008 An amber pour with an aroma of cherries and caramel/brown sugar. A huge off white head. A slight sour with fruit that hints of cherry but not like the aroma. A little bready. A lite bitterness that may come from the sour. Medium bodied with good mouthfeel and carbonation. HonkeyBra (1279), Lemont, Illinois, USA Sep 19, 2008 Bottle with the old oval label, my beer guy told me he’d aged this before putting it out. Pours amber with a taut, off white head. Aroma of cherries, bourbon, oak, apples, leaves. Flavor is stunning: it starts slightly sour with a rush of sour cherries and oak, a bit of bourbon, then a clean sour finish. Mouthfeel is great, and overall this is one of the best tasting beer i’ve ever had in my life. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Sep 19, 2008 Reddish brown with next to no head. Aroma of mild paint thinner, sour cherries and wood. Taste of cherry, mild fruit, berry, grain, wood. Sour as expected throughout but a decent beer as I’m becoming a fan of the style. KimJohansen (6678), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 19, 2008 Updated: Sep 23, 2008Hazy amber with tiny beige head. Sour aroma with wood and sour fruits. Sour flavour with sour berries, wood, citric and barnyard notes. Finishes sour. Nice! TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Sep 16, 2008 Bottled, Ølbaren
Dark cherry red color, small pinky head. Light woody, sour cherry aroma. Oaky-woody, cherry-fruity flavor, lightly sour. Alcoholic dry oaky aftertaste. Interesting "artisan amber ale".
