Yeasty with a noticeable spice presence. The caramel malt is really present in heavy doses - with an near-bready quality - especially on the finish, where is is soft and soothing. My first Jolly Pumpkin ale - truly a work of art - a superb and unique drink. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Bottle says Biere de Garde. Carbonated emough that it tries to foam it’s way out of the bottle. Sort of a red caramel colour. Light foam head. Smells like a sour ale. A touch of a cheese edge to the scent. Lively body. Dark malt and very sour. Starts out a little thin, sour and half wine-like. BIgger lasting head in the bottle than in the glass! Tastes better and better as you drink, or as the alcohol sinks in. smith4498 (865), Miami, Florida, USA
