Jul 4, 2009 Bottle... pours a deep red with an average white head... some tart cherry aromas really shine through. La Roja is a really nice starter sour beer... It has a nice medium body with a burst of tart apple up front and a very well balanced and round finish that brings some delicate fruit forward ... including grapes, plums, apples, cherries and pairs it well with a more robust tart backbone. It is quite sour but really brings the style forward.

Jul 4, 2009 Blend 15, 2008. Orange / red pour with a tan / white, quickly dissapating head. Fruity / oaky aroma, very earthy. Sour cherry hits you immediately with oak next and a long oak finish.

Pours reddish brown with a small head. Aroma is sourish red berries wth oaky notes. Sourish cherry flavour with lots of oak.

Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. Pour is cloudy brown with large tan head. Aroma is sour cherries up front with a huge amount of wood to follow. Some mild floral notes as well. Flavor is true to nose with a burst of sour cherry up front with a large woody finish that lingers for a while. It was good but certainly have to like wood to fully enjoy this one.

Jun 26, 2009 Bottle pours medium amber with a very bubbly head. Aroma of smoke and oak. Body of slightly sweet and tart fruits and sugars. Bit of vanilla at the end. Nice sour.

Jun 25, 2009 Bottle from trade with guyinchicago. Thanks Chuck! Pours hazy amber color with thick off-white head. Aroma of oak, brett and raspberries. Sweet fruity Flavor is semi sweet from fruit and spices but it had a dry tart finish. Very smooth and well balanced. Excellent brew!!

Jun 23, 2009 Ruby red pour with a thick, frothy off-white head pour. Aroma of oak, sour, fruit, a slight cherry aroma and taste. Sour,oak, a nice woody taste, slight sweetness at the end, dry. Nice lacing on the glass. The foam actually clings heavily to the glass. Nice balance to all the flavors which results in a refreshing glass. Alcohol is not noticeable. Tye head is comprised of thousands of bubbles. Great aftertaste in the mouth, just like the first sip.

Jun 23, 2009 My second beer from Jolly Pumpkin...and it yet again does not disappoint! Amazing beverages, amazing brewery! So it pours a nice pretty sort of cider color - light brown and a nice super light tan color head. It smells amazing, clearly from the oak aged situation. Aroma is sort of winey, grapes and such. It tastes great...spicy, sort of sweet like caramel, maybe a bit of cider vinegar - for lack of a better taste...It’s great! I got this bottle with my friend BeerBaron617 at the actual brewery, and they’re really cool there. Ron told us everything about all of their beers, so if you’re in MI, or Dexter...check them out for sure!
