COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

Sour tangerines, grapes, musty oak, spicy clove, and coriander make up the complex aroma of La Roja. Orangeish brown in color, with a persistent white ring and very fine bubbles across the top of the beer. Mellow flavors of sour grape skins, some spice, vanilla and as it warms sour cherries make up the flavor. Dry, thin, high carbonation, and somewhat astringent. An excellent brew from my new favorite American brewery.

Pours brown-red with half finger of head. Nose is sour apple, earthy, almost mineraly, sour cherry, woody. Taste starts off with sour fruits, very quickly turns woody, dries out a ton, spices, finishes with some plant rind bitterness and spices. Interesting beer, haven't had many Flanders style but I like this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Small snifter. Pours a deep reddish brown with a thin eggshell head. Head gone in sixty seconds and very minor lacing. Aroma of sour cherries, funk, wild yeasts, spices, and wine grapes. The taste was quite nice and balanced between the sour cherries, wild yeasts, malts, and cheese. Delicate, but it also seemed to pack a flavor punch. Sour cherry and fruit finish. Light in body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle to chalice. Muddy red with white head and some lacing. Vinegar souring with dirt, wood, red fruit. Very solid representative of the style. Hints of oxidation. Good carbonation soft on the palate. I’ll drink more of this for sure.

Pours a red rubyish color with white head. Sour candy on the aroma, follows through onto the palate. Some wood on the palate as well. Sour, but just a little spice seems to add a little balance to it.

Red pour with a white head. The aroma has some strong cherry notes as well as some brett and a bit of biscuit malt. The flavor is more of the same. I get some tart cherry notes as well as some biscuit malt and a hint of brown sugar. There is also some brett and some light funk notes, as well as some tannic oak character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice sour.

Appearance: Clear ruby with thin white head. Very effervescent definitely one to open over the sink. Aroma: Woody, Brett, sour cherries, hint of vinous, leather, note of caramel. Taste: High sourness, low/medium bitterness and low sourness. Palate: Thin/medium thick mouthfeel with smooth texture, light/medium body, average/prickly carbonation, astringent lingering sour, vinous, fruity, acetic finish. Comments: Very tasty.
