COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

tart sour nose with hints of brown caramel malts, thin head, deep mirky brown color, palate is quite watery which must be from the excessive dryness of this ale, flavor is acidic and tart but far from overwhelming, significant lingering bitterness, hints at fruit but far from complicated in the ester department, some dark malt flavor sticks around at the finish, very mild brett flavors... Far less complex and bretty than most other JP ales, but more sour than most of the others I’ve had

Pours a hazy reddish amber with a small slightly off white head. Aroma of funky oaked berries, earth, must. Flavor is sweet yet refreshing, consistently tart throughout. Spicy oak finish. La Roja indeed.

W aromacie owocowo, głównie śliwki i brzoskwinie, wyraźnie winno - kwaskowe, karmel.

Jolly Pumpkin La Roja is, well, wild as expected. Sour aroma from a reddish pour with a thin head. Taste is sour and slightly sweet with some fruit notes. Unique but not overly intriguing. La Rosa will appeal to the sour fans and is an interesting diversion to the otherwise enthusiast.

It poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of some tart/sour notes, fruit, caramel malts and spices. The taste was similar with a blend of the tartness and the dark fruits. Tasty.

Pours brown-red with half finger of head. Nose is sour apple, earthy, almost mineraly, sour cherry, woody. Taste starts off with sour fruits, very quickly turns woody, dries out a ton, spices, finishes with some plant rind bitterness and spices. Interesting beer, haven't had many Flanders style but I like this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Small snifter. Pours a deep reddish brown with a thin eggshell head. Head gone in sixty seconds and very minor lacing. Aroma of sour cherries, funk, wild yeasts, spices, and wine grapes. The taste was quite nice and balanced between the sour cherries, wild yeasts, malts, and cheese. Delicate, but it also seemed to pack a flavor punch. Sour cherry and fruit finish. Light in body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby color with one finger of tan foam and lacing. Aroma is funk, wild yeast, oak, cherries, assorted fruit. Flavor is complex, sour and delicious. Sour cherries, with a healthy sour, lactic presence. From notes 2/15/10.
