LilBeerDoctor (383), East Setauket, New York, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle, blend 12, 2007. Pours a cloudy brown with a small white head. Aroma of tart, sour fruits, some alcohol. Initial flavor of sour fruits, then in the aftertaste I got crackers, coffee, roasted meat. Certainly an interesting beer. It lacks the sweetness I’ve seen in other sours (not that this was a negative, just an observation). Tasty.
RSRIZZO (979), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Aug 5, 2008 Blend #9, 2007’. Aroma of sour cherries. Color is a deep hazy orange amber with very active carbonation and a tight little head. Taste is crisp and sour. Starting with a light body it goes down smooth with a crisp feel on the end. Finish is a bright sour flavor that has a very mild fruit taste then a little oak and faint bitterness. After taste is dry and sour but there seems to be a sweetness in there somewhere. This is the best Sour Ale I have had. The sour doesn’t overpower, letting it come out crisp and refreshing. oberabcbbsok (650), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 3, 2008 A nice and good tasting beer. Bought a bottle in longtown. Very spicy and tiambe.//love r beer AgentSteve (700), Livermore, California, USA Jul 30, 2008 Attractive ruddy brown pour with a big, cream colored head. Tart cherry nose and flavor. A bit lacking in complexity. Dry finish. KnN (239), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jul 25, 2008 Pours a beautiful red color with a nice short lived off-white head. Aroma is sour, a bit of wood and cherries. Flavor is wonderful. Definitely sour, but not mouth puckering, and the fruit hints in there add a nice bit of complexity. Something else in there I’m having a hard time defining, but I want to say it almost tastes like cut mahogany smells? Not quite right, but man, this is a good beer. BeerFanDan17 (348), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jul 23, 2008 Very unique. Tried this one with scotch4281. Somewhat wine like in acidity but comes through smooth. Nice balance of sour and fruit.
