MrChris (110), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Jul 23, 2006 Sampled at the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival. A medium spicy sour aroma. Never had that in a beer before. Pours headless, cider colored. BIG musty hop flavored sweetness and dry ending with no after taste. Taste reminds me a thicker, more seasoned version of thier Bam Biere, Farmhouse Ale. Too bad the sample size is so small. I’ll be back to this one.
dalekliz (314), San Diego, California, USA Jan 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear orange-amber with a thick, foamy, off-white head. Sour aroma, of under-ripe fruits, yeast, and spices. Taste is sour and sweet, nicely fruity, with malt, yeast, and spices. Lingering fruity sourness. Tasty. Hansen (1871), Randers, Denmark Jan 1, 2009 Dark brown colour and unclear. Has an off-white head. Aroma is acid, sulfur, candis. Flavor is heavy acidic, light sweet. Palate is sharp, acid, dry, somehow soft too. Like a lambic. changeup45 (624), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 31, 2008 This started over flowing as soon as I opened it up, out of control, took some effort to settle it down. Amber colored, a lot of carbonation, huge foamy head that eventually settled to a nice level. Fruity and yeasty, light with some spice and a tangy sour presence. I like this beer but I don’t think it’s anything special and is a bit too expensive. HonkeyBra (614), Lemont, Illinois, USA Dec 30, 2008 Pours an amberish color with a big, rocky head. Sour, spicey aroma with some licorice, some pepper, some coriander. The flavor is very tart with a lot of spice, lots of orange peel and pepper, a tad funkiness. Almost wish they’d tone down the spiciness, but, man, still an amazing brew.
