radiomgb (1761), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2007 Beautiful copper-orange in colour, very large off-white coloured head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of apples, yeast, very bretty, lambicy, floral and spicy. The flavour is peppery and spicy, yeasty, bretty, some barnyard, earthy, musty, oranges and peaches, light coriander. Lightly sweet mouthfeel, medium body, high but still soft carbonation. Finishes long, floral and spicy. Very Orval like, lots of green apples and brett. The bottle exploded when I opened it, its a good this I decided not to open it next to my computer. Absolutely fantastic.

travita (737), Lewisville, Texas, USA Sep 3, 2008 Off amber couldy look with an everlasting thick foamy beige colored head. Good lacing. Smell is spices, cooriandor, tartness, and fruit. Taste is a touch of bitterness, some spices, and tartness. Good beer. Immy (1559), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 28, 2008 Capped 750. I’m not sure of the vintage, but I know I have been cellaring this for about 2 years. I had reason to celebrate a little tonight, so I figured why not break this baby out? I was not disappointed... lightly hazed orange amber with a massive off white head that descended rockily. Thick, sticky lace. Orange scents, light tropical fruit and just a bit of barnyardy. Traces of dust and cinnamon. Rather light bodied, orange zest and spicy coriander, rather dry and herbal. Some woodiness emerges as it warms and breathes, some white peppery notes. Dry, mildly bitter herbal finish. Thanks, JP - and here’s to me and my new position! MrChopin (171), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2008 Shimmering amber with a long-lasting white head, lacing. The brain registers minor citrus on the nose, then some caramel and malt tucked in the back. Yeast is throughout. Then the beer shifts gears and slams it out of the park with mother nature funk, like an earthy, clay sulfur/egg/barnyard thing. Belts are totally fastened now... and the flavor is Bruce Lee confidently kicking ass: sweet orange, lemon, apple, and spice cruising down a highway of pepper-dusted wood, yeast sitting shotgun. I think urine is locked in the trunk and hop bitterness is trying to ride the bumper. Medium-bodied and perfectly carbonated, the palate is refreshing and conclusive the way steak done right melts in one’s mouth. This is the US’s answer to Orval. Zinister (877), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 22, 2008 Much thanks to July Santa for this bottle! (Shared with KAggie97) Bright orange pour with kick ass had. Nose is typical JP...spices, fruit, tartness, barnyard....yum. Flavor is sour with good acidity. Lemons, apples and wood notes as well. Old_Mr_Crow (1016), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 22, 2008 Bottle.
Opens with a puff and then gushes for a good 15 minutes. Nice rich amber orange, massive textured head forming clumps as it subsides. Tart, tannic aroma, spice, apple, plenty of fruit --- these come through in the flavor, definitely some sour, lots of oak, quite strongly herbal with the grains of paradise and coriander mixing up nicely with the general flavor profile. Pretty dry, lemon juice, some hops on the close. Very different, very enjoyable!
