bottle, shared with Ian and others. Hazy golden body topped by a lively white head. Scant early lace. Lightly spicy aroma, faint funk. Biscuity malts with spicy yeast character, light hay, light funk. Dry finish, modestly bitter. I’m not certain whether the faint funkiness is deliberate, or an expression of the age on this bottle (14 months, stored at 4 degrees), but it was a very pleasant drinkable brew.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy golden yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, bread, slight grassy notes, touch of earthy, slightly tart lemony note with lots of yeasty spice, slight white fruit notes. Taste is a mix of bread, biscuit, hints of lemon, slight yeast in there with a touch of white fruit, slight earthy notes. Pretty nice.

A: Amber/Golden Straw Hue, Passes Some Light, Thick White Head, Some Lacing S: Sour Mash, Yeast, Black Pepper T: Yeast, Black Pepper, Corriander M: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mild Yeast, Mild Spicy Overall, this beer almost suited a Saison than a Grand Cru and missed any hop character but it was a 13 months after bottling.

From 10/13 notes. 750ml bottle pours hazy golden orange. Nose is spicy, citrus, oak, dank, light funk. Mouthfeel is crisp, bubbly, carbonated. Taste is woody, oak, apple, hay, barnyard funk, some spice. Finish is orange peel, barrel, very slightly tart. Great.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2014 May be my favorite Jolly Pumpkin I’ve had so far. Very refreshing and clean crisp tasting. Funky and tart. The store I get my Jolly Pumpkin from usually has tons so I’ve had it as aged as 3-4 years. Really nice with the very clear bottling date Jolly Pumpkin uses.

Pours a hazy golden with lots of foaming head. Funky yeasty nose with lemongrass and wet hay. Finishes very dry and hoppy. Very nice crisp clean beer. I really like this.
