3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange pour with a massive white head that lasts. A lot of fine carbonation is visible as well. Aroma musty barnyard funk, spice, and light tropical fruit. Taste follows the nose with a nice lactic tartness also. Very dry finish. Really nice beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sample @ SBWF. Is this a post modern ale or what? It’s sweet, pretty sour and at the same time quite hoppy. Nicely balanced. Notes of cookies, citrus, wheat, pepper. Small bitterness in the aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
"a nice blend of hops and funk, with a slight coriander spiciness in the nose and the back end of the flavor. prickly on the palate. still has the house JP character, but it works well here."

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is of fruit and flowers with a very slight touch of barnyard yeast. An attractive mellon-amber pour with a large display of cream colored foam and abundent lacing. The taste follows the nose with the addition of citrus. The finish is dry and crisp. Medium-light body with sharp crisp carbonation. Overall, while this beer was very enjoyable, it reminded me more of a farmhouse ale, bier de gard, or a Saison than a Belgian ale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: clear with ver light haze, golden, medium thick head and good lace. Cloves, spice, lemon rind, funky, cumquat. Dry, moderately sour and bitter. Citrus and spice flavors. Coriander really isn’t relevant. Long. Funky but relevantly clean.
Like an old world ale. Rustic. Full of character. Quenching not something to slam down.

Transfer from BA review on 4-16-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a slightly hazed golden amber color with a huge thick billowy white head that persist very well. The head fades very slowly leaving a fair level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is massively sweet of almost a candy variety. A big candy like sweetness mixed with a citrus fruit of orange are the heaviest. These are mixed with some yeasty and light spice aromas as well as a somewhat funky sour aroma.
Taste – The taste begins much more bitter and much less sweet then the nose would have let on. There is an orange citrus and somewhat wheaty flavor beginning the taste. As the taste advances some, it takes on some more sour notes of a sour apple and tart melon like taste. These flavors advance to the end where when the beer is cold the taste ends with a nice light bitter hop flavor which leaves a lightly sour and funky but enjoyable balanced flavor to linger on the tongue. Once the beer warms however, the sour and funky flavors dominate the end, with no real presence of the hop, leaving a somewhat unbalanced flavor to linger in the mouth.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is a bit on the higher side. Both are rather nice for the funky and sour tastes of the brew, helping to keep it still rather drinkable in light of its funky sourness.
Overall – This was a rather interesting brew, although not one I would likely go back to again. As the brew warmed over time it seemed to lose much of the hop flavor that was present at the end of the taste, replacing it with a more puckering sour taste. A decent one to try and best to drink cold.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On-tap at Ffej of July IX
A - Pours murky amber orange with a thick two finger tall white head leaving thick rings of lace down the glass.
S - Smells of bright citric fruit, lots of barn yard funk, the typical JP brett, and just a tiny bit of acidic sourness.
T - Starts off with a big dose of dry barnyard funk from the brett slowly giving way to a mix of lemon, even more bready yeast, and a faint kiss of caramel sweetness. The finish is even more chewy brett, leaving the pallet dry for some time.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Lots of tart funk in the feel, lingering through the finish.
O - I had quite a few of these over the two days and it really began to grow on me. It had just enough funk without being too overpowering.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: very light yellow, hazy, with a fluffy meringue-like white head and a good bunch of lacing. Aroma: sour and tart aroma of lemon and apple cider vinegar, with a touch of coriander and honey. Taste: crisp saltine crackers, aspirin, white pepper, lemongrass, stone fruit, honeydew melon, light yeasty funk. Finish: dry, with a zingy minerality and light crackery malt note. Notes: Smells like it should be a sour beer, tastes like a hybrid saison and light belgian blonde. As usual from this brewery, it’s a very interesting beer. Drinkable palate. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy gold pour with a tall, chunky off white head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is full of fruity and spicy yeast, a little bread, citrus and spicy hops, a little stone fruit and a little wet basement. Flavor is very citrusy up front with a little stone fruit, a short pause leads to light bready notes, lots of peppery and citrusy spice, floury grain, light funk, a hint of tartness and spicy and citrus hops to the finish. Surprisingly creamy and smooth entry, fairly heavy and blanketing carbonation and off dry and slightly acidic in the finish. Really good stuff.
