2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nose if sour. Thanks Dan. Infected. Tart in the nose. Tart in the taste. Ok. But the roast and sour clash. Lots of wine and vinegar.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from DQ mini mart. Poured into a pint glass. Appearance is dark black with a thin slight brown head. Aroma is of heavy sour followed by malt. Taste right off the bat with a tart sourness, then evolves into lactose, then goes into roasted malts and slight tannin notes then goes back to a slight tartness that then dissapates. Pretty good style definitely getting 2 next year.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
750ml bottle sampled at Churchkey pours a murky black with some spitty, beige head. Nose has lots of chocolate and licorice, a little port, some acid, hints of rotting wood. Flavor is sadly a bit thin, oily, a little soy, some sour orange, some chocolate but the cheap kind, some dandelion greens. Oily and astringent finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
APPEARANCE – Extremely black, no head as the carbonation is very light.
NOSE – slightly sour nose, and malty when I first smell it. However after I take a sip, all I smell is the sourness.
FLAVOR – surprisingly sour considering the malty sweetness when I first sipped the beer.
NOTES – Good, but not what I expected.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On draft at ChurchKey. Pours a hazy cola brown with a tan head. Aroma of licorice and chocolate. Flavors same with a sour funkiness which was a bit surprising, given the aroma. Tart roast finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber bottle. Aroma is slightly sour, a little roasted. Appearance is really nice, dark black with light brown head that lasts pretty well with good lacing. Taste is too much sourness. Tastes to me like an infection from reading other comments. Sourness overwhelms. Medium body. Overall, I couldn’t get past the sourness. Would like to try it again sometime to see if it could be better.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught. Inky black with small foamy white head, fruity aroma, low carbonation, sour roasted malt taste, long finish, bitter burnt aftertaste. A marriage of sour and stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Old rating. Interesting beer. Mix of smoky stout, tart sour beer, with a hint of wood and funk. Pretty good balance within the different elements. Has that JP funky tart presence.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black body under a ginormous tan head. Laces really well in a foam coffee cup. Chocolate aroma with some fruity roast bitterness as well as some horsey brett. The flavor displays much more brett character. Grapefruit rind, strawberry, grapefruit acid and dry roasty chocolate. Dry, thin mouthfeel presumably from the secondary brett fermentation. A highly enjoyable twist on the style.
