A rich brown ale inspired by the enigmatic monastic brews of Belgium, and the mysterious mist shrouded jungles of the tropics. Brewed with real cacao, and spiced with cinnamon and sweet orange peel for a sensual delight. A brew to be sipped, savored, and enjoyed!

Half finger of head on a cloudy, light brown body. The aroma is orange chocolate, alcohol and nuts. The taste is quite boozy, a big dose of lemon bitterness in the middle, finishes with a touch of sweetness. Itís a bit confused. Crisper texture, moderate carbonation and medium body. It smells amazing but the flavor didnít back it up. Fairly bitter for the style.

Cocoa- and cinnamon-flavoured specialty beer with thick, yellowish, moussy head and clear copper to bronze colour with tiny yeast particles floating around. Powerful sweet-sourish aroma closer to an oud bruin than to an abbey or trappist ale, impressions of sweet sherry, marmelade, chocolate liqueur, spiced wine, cinnamon, candied figues, orange peel, wine vinegar, ketchup, walnuts. Fruity and sourish onset reminiscent of apple and lemon, nutty malts, vivid spicy accents, bittering towards the end and finishing complex, spicy, resinous, hoppy, dry and warming alcoholic. Too sourish, I guess from an infection by lactic bacteria, but this did make it more Flemish sour-like, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Aroma of Belgian yeast along with hints of orange and spice. A deep amber pour with a tan head and moderate lacing. The taste is overall on the citrus with a hint of sourness. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, a complex enjoyable beer.

Incredibly complex and balanced to the point that itís difficult to pick out any distinct flavors or aromas. Spicy, fruity, rich, sweet and tart. Tasty.

Pours cloudy amber with thick tan head out of bottle. Aroma of must, citrus, and spices. Flavor similar to a Belgium ale except drier. Taste of citrus, spice, and pumpkin. Good beer but very complicated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours rich honey dark amber colored. Smell is spiced caramel. Taste is slightly tart, bitter and kind of ashy. Hard to describe. Ok in a 4 oz. sample but I definitely donít want any more than that.

Cellared 2011 bomber, shared & poured to snifters, displaying a fairly clarified, brownish amber color, with a modest layer of off white, bubbly head foam, and spotty lacing. The nose was earthy, dried fruit, holiday scent to the spicing, and some tartness. The taste was more on the sour side, with similar dried fruit & spice expression, and an under control, but satisfyingly dry finish. Probably lost some sweetness, and alcohol punch, as it showed some dry, vinous qualities, but I liked it.

Boiled clementines and mulched sweet berry and dusty. Bright but clean yeastery vibe. Softly Greasy mouthfeel. Dank copper bitter finish. Kinda wish I had more time with this.
