Commercial Description:
A rich brown ale inspired by the enigmatic monastic brews of Belgium, and the mysterious mist shrouded jungles of the tropics. Brewed with real cacao, and spiced with cinnamon and sweet orange peel for a sensual delight. A brew to be sipped, savored, and enjoyed!

bottle. pours a mostly clear reddish brown, with a thin off-white head that quickly fades to a film, but still leaves a decent lacing. lightly musty grapes and amber malt smell, with a deep cotton candy character, and some berries filling in the back. kind of a light caramelly malt flavor dominates the taste, with grapes and other berries filling out the taste, again all with a sort of musty overtone, and that certain indescribable array of flavors that only weird yeast strains can produce. also some notes of orange zest and spices, as well as some oak notes. this is really good stuff. moderate hoppy bitterness in the end, quite dry, but a light sweetness comes in as well. light to medium body, quite carbonated, and a very quenching, coating, if a bit astringent, mouthfeel. as tends to happen with jolly pumpkin, this beer is going away faster than i want it to. perhaps my favorite of theirs so far. really yummy and really different!

Bottle. Brown-gold pour with a big white head. Cloudy and leaving amazing lacing. Pungent sharp sourness with cinnamon behind it. Opens with cinnamon into big barnyard-earthy funk. Finishes with deep bitter dark chocolate. Full-bodied and highly drinkable. The chocolate in the finish is a perfect contrast to the sourness. Masterfully-balanced like so many JP offerings.

Bottle. Batch 253. Copper beer with a tan head. Cocoa, caramel, cinnamon/spice aroma with light citrus and light tartness. Tart, light citrus flavor with caramel turning to spice, malt, and some light stone fruit. Medium body. Spice, cinnamon and nutmeg linger with malt and tartness.

Bottle (Thanks Puzzl) at Sune’s sommerhus. Murkey red/brown - offwhite head. Red berries, fruity, spicy, orange, light cinnamon, cherry, dry cocoa, light soapy, light oud bruin - caracters. Nice complexity.

Bottled. Hazy and amber coloured with a rather large white head. Quite malty with notes of orangepeel, cloves, cinnamon, cocoa, cherry, nuts and wood. Ok balanced and quite complex - maybe even a little confusing.
