Bottle (750 ml). Bottled in 2011. Hazy reddish brown with a small off-white head and little lacing. Aroma is fruity and sour with a strong wood presence, light ketchup and light spices. Taste is slightly sweet and moderately sour with strong wood presence again, spices, Jolly Pumpkin brettanomyces signature and light ketchup notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body. Light to moderate carbonation. Mouth puckering sourness. Another good Jolly Pumpkin beer, but this one isn’t their best. Interesting take on a Christmas beer.

Spicy aroma. five spice. Anis. Pours a copper brown with a white diminishing head. Taste is surprisingly sour. Slightly maple sweet finish. Crisp. Blend number 8. Bottled on October 31st 2012. Hard to pick out the barrel aging. Maybe due to the age. A decent drinkable strong, but missing something. Maybe balance.

On tap at Brouwer’s cafe sour fest,pours a hazy brown color with a off white head that leaves good lacing smells of cinnamon, dark fruit,and a few other holiday spices a slight funky sour note. Tastes of the same things in the smell but the sour flavor doesn’t appear until the back end. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with light to medium carbonation and a dry finish. This I now the 2nd Jolly Pumpkin beer I’ve had and I really like the sour twistthey put on a winter spiced ale. Wish thier beer was distributed here instead of just around during special events.

Bottle. Pours a murky brownish maroon color. Small bubbly tan head. Aroma is oaky, sour and funky, dark fruit and winter spices. Flavor is tart and woody dry, dark fruit and funk. Finishes dry and spicy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bouteille 750ml. Explosive à l’ouverture. De couleur brune foncée et voilée. Nez de levures sauvages fruitées aux notes aigres (prunes, moyen de raisins vineux, notes de figues et de cerises sûres) et légèrement épicées, légèrement boisé (fût de chêne) et aux notes rustiques et terreuses avec des notes de malt rôti. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture aux notes crémeuses. Goût de levures fruitées moyennement sauvages, légèrement sûres et acides (cerises sûres, moyen de raisins vineux, léger de prunes et de figues, traces de pommes) aux notes terreuses et épicées accompagné d’un léger-moyen goût boisé (fût de chêne) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un léger goût caramel doux et de malt léger-moyen rôti puis en finale l’on retrouve une recrudescence d’aigreur fruitée et asséchante avec des notes d’alcool et de houblon herbeux. Post-goût long et un peu sec, légèrement sûr de levures fruitées sauvages (moût de raisins vineux, léger de cerises sûres) aux notes terreuses, légèrement boisé avec des notes rôties et d’alcool.

Bottle thanks to Joes @ QDT 13. Batch 897. A bit hazy medium dark red color, full sized light beige head that leaves nice lacing. Smell and taste lightly sour, some fruityness, dry. Medium body and carbonation. Doesn’t really taste like 9% ABV. Not bad.

Bottle @ #Bexit tasting thx to joes. Brown to red colour with a huge off-white to beige head. Smells slightly sour, iron, smokey. Tastes sour, green apple, brett. Lots of carbo, thin to medium body.

(Bottle 19/12-2011) Low off-white head, orange color, sour aroma, strange sour sweet taste. Bottled 11-05-10.
