4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Alexus (238) - Stavanger, NORWAY - APR 22, 2012
Shared 750 ml bottle @ Cardinal, 21.04.12. Hazy copper in color with a frothy head. This bottle did not gush out at all. Rich aromas of spices.
Flavors of dried fruits, and a nice vinegar sourness. Medium body. A great ale from Jolly Pumpkin!

This is absolutely superb. Sort of a beautiful holiday ale, with just the right amount of funk to add intrigue.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 ontbeermaker (1832) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2011
Bottle pictured. Pours a nice yellow a little bit misty. Smell is of your typical sour smell. Taste is quite sour but yet very drink able and the spices really come through. Really liked this one. One of the best sour ales I have had. Definitely comparable to other sours.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 banii (110) - Trondheim, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2012 Collab between 3 of the worlds best brewers. Oak aged and "brett-treated" @ JP. Redishbrown in colour, with a lively foam. (pour fast - it will spill!). Smells sweet of oak and coke. Taste is smooth and complex: dark berries, coke, oak and some smoke. Ends sour, but is still silky smooth. Really nice beer.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DeputyAndy (626) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2011
Bottle split with friends. Pours a Lacy brown with slight head. Aroma is a deep sour with slight cinnamon notes. Flavor is thin with tons of spice and a background of sour. Great beer.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Pailhead (3859) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - FEB 11, 2011
The aroma has the typical JP funk/sourness along with some tart cherry and a hint of chestnuts. It pours dark garnet that becomes transparent when held to the light. It has a small off-white head that never really builds to much more than a thin film outlined by a thicker ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with lightly sweet cherry, light vanilla, and a touch of chestnuts. The finish has tart cherry, a decent oak presence, light juniper, and alcohol (bourbon?). Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

75 cl bottle - at Patricks and at home. Hints of the original beer in the background, but most of all it´s the lovely sourness and oak that dominates. I love it.

Sessions with James, Dallas, Pat, and Bobby. It’s got a cool icy hot peppermint thing going on. Juniper, mint, thyme, sour.. Refreshing and cool.
