0.75 l bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Hazy yellow brown color. Perfumed, grapefruity, appley and spicy aroma with hints of acetic acid. Spicy, clovey, grapefruity and appley flavor with dryish spicy bitterness. Great dryness and balance. Brilliant!

Bottle thanks to Timmy300. Pours a very appreciated Golden color approaching orange. Nice fluffy head that lasts forever. Nose is awesome, lemons, vinegar, funk, white pepper, some nice soft wood notes. Taste was slightly tart, a touch salty and the malts come through in the second phase. Sometimes with bretty beers, they just end up stupid dry with a cut off tail. This one goes on for a while with spicy noble hops coming out and balancing the slight lemony notes. Pretty interesting and glad I was able to try it.

750ml bottle poured into a tumbler. JPOdC pours the color of grapefruit juice and is hazy with a very large head (think Duvel). As a matter of fact this beer was so anxious to live in my belly that it leaped from the bottle when I opened the cap. I like a good loyal beer. Good beer. Good boy. The aroma includes lemon, brett and body odor. Oddly enough, it works and I am not really known as a pit-sniffer. I do not think I have had a beer like this one before. It is highly carbonated like Champaign. It is extremely dry and has a lingering sour finish. The taste is woody, lemony and peppery. This beer reminds me of a gueuze in a way. This is an interesting beer and worth trying but the taste, in the end, just is not my style. I do not think the lemon sits correctly in the beer.

Bottle at Eulogy, Philadelphia, with Traci, Fin & Loz. Pale gold, nice white head. Fresh lemon oil aroma, fresh wooly pepper, strawberries. Lovely dry lemon flavor, salt, nice bit of funk. Mmmmm....nice!

Hazy, golden pour with a big thick white head. Aroma of citrus, brett funk, lemon, wood, some pepper and a lovely tartness. Flavor is tart with an herbal citrus notes, some dusty yeast, a bit of funk, pepper, white wine, with a great, bottle conditioned mouthfeel. Amazing.

750ml bottle, Batch 229. Aroma of lemon citrus, golden apple, spices and oak, with a light degree of honeyish malt sweetness, what I have now come to realize as the trademark Jolly Pumpkin wild yeast funk, plenty of fruity tartness and herbal tinges. Mostly clear medium golden color, with a nicely lasting, fine head and lacing to match. Flavor profile nearly matches the aroma exactly, featuring a blend of malty sweetness, fruity, tart, dusty yeast, and moderate hop bitterness, showing a bit of white grape and peppery alcohol at the close. Mouthfeel is well carbonated and moderately acidic, body is medium-full. Quite organic in character, seemingly, and some very interesting stuff.

Flaske.
