Artisan Golden Ale. Ale aged in oak barrels. Barrel aged & bottle conditioned. Aged in large oak casks and refermented in the bottle. Oro de Calabaza is brewed in the Franco-Belgian tradition of special golden ales. Spicy and peppery with a gentle hop bouquet and the beguiling influence of wild yeast. 2016/03/11 - Pours a hazy yellow straw colour with a foamy white head that quickly reduces and leaves no lacing. Aroma is woody (oak), sour lemon, spices, yeast and some funky notes. Taste is oak, peppery notes, tart lemon, yeast and some funk. Mouthfeel is light to medium with smooth carbonation and a sharp, lightly acidic, drying finish. Good but not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A hazy yellow draft. Woody, lemon aroma. Flavors of lemon, a little funk but not much, def woody. Yeast and brett are big, spicy. Pretty sour finish. Pretty clean and juicy mouthfeel. Balanced but not as interesting as I hoped.

With Z, pours a golden light orange color with a small ephemeral white head . Nose is straight up oak and pleasant yeast, with some nice sourness. Taste is oak as well with a pleasant fruity sourness. Finishes on he same tasting notes with a short acidic finish. Nice, a Belgian Strong Ale ??? Quaff Score 8 / 10

Bomber. Pours a golden orange with a white head and aroma of oak and spices. Taste is full of spices, with Belgian yeast notes along with strong barrel age oak and funk into the spicy, peppery finish.

375ml bottle. Yellow golden colour, frothy white foam head leaving some lacing and fruity, yeasty, funky aroma with some vanilla. Taste is grain, tart lemon rind, mellow sweet sugary, summer fruits, apricot, solventy, with woody oak, biscuit and funky yeast notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy finish. Quite OK.

Bottle. Light blond with a big rocky white head. Yeasty malt aroma with some citrus hops and pepper. Light body with some prickly carbonation, yeast and some green apple wild yeast, a bit of oaky phenolic, sour and spicy. Really liking this one.
