3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JStax (837) - Devola, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance is translucent gold with a billowy white head. Aroma is effervescently tart with a touch of floral hop presence. Taste is sour throughout, but I do pick up a floral hop bitterness buried in there with just a hint of vanilla from the barrel. No alcohol presence detectable. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation. A beer to sip and savor.

Lovely beer by Jolly Pumpkin. Pours a cloudy straw color with light to medium head, and small amount of lacing. Nice carbonation on the mouthfeel, with citrus and spice notes. Bit of sour mixed with light funk. Nice citrus finish.

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, funk, fruity, yeast and sugar. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter and light sour with a long dry, fruity and funky finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

12/08/2011 Alchimia Retail Shop (750ml bottle). Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Gran bella birra acida, complessa, originale.

Im beginning to think Im a sucker for the Jolly Pumpkin "thing". They seem to do just about the same thing in every beer with a very minor tweak but I still love it. Pour is cloudy straw with white fluffy head. Aroma is oranges, lemon, spices, and earthy tones. Taste is very citrus spicyness with cloves, pepper, lemon, and orange. Loved it.

Rich malty and bretted, very carbonated. Liking it, thought it would be more boring

2010 bottle. Hazy golden pour with a fizzy white head. Aroma was spicy and funky. Hints of earth and clove. Flavors were a bit tart and earthy, good bit of spice throughout. Mouthfeel was quite full, spritzy carbonation. Quite drinkable and enjoyable.

Its JP, so it gushed out all over the place and had rambunctious carbonation and was generally a funky, lightly tart, spicy beer. Pretty darn good but not their best.

Funky, spicy, earthy sourness...pure JP. No matter how beers I’ve tasted at a beer festival my tastebuds always welcome the pucker of of one of JP’s offerings.
