Hazy gold. Large, creamy, off white head. Aroma of yeast, grainy malt, crisp hops, and subtle alcohol. Same flavors. Lot of corn going on. Finish is spicy and a bit sour. Medium/full, well carbonated body. Good for the daytime.

Light nose, cloudy orange color, foamy head. Sweet fruity malt - berry and orange. Lactic, yeasty middle. Spicy and tangy end like a grapefruit. Creamy texture full body. Unuaual, but didn’t resonate with me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2008 Re-rate notes: the new version is much more sour than previous, both in aroma and taste. Tart dry and peppery. More interesting than I remember. (Original rating: 3.7)
Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color. Sweet aroma of citrus fruits. Taste is semi-sweet with orange peel, spices (pepper), and alcohol. This is not bad.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hazy, pale gold appearance with a large white head that fades slowly leaving a boatload of Belgian lacing. Yeasty, spicy, vinous, slightly musty aroma with doses of tart fruit. Taste shares a few traits of a crisp, white wine; dry, earthy, fruity, spicy, tart. Faint hint of sourness near the finish, but it did not diminish the overall enjoyment of this impressive ale (@ astor).

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml. champagne style bottle. No freshness date seen anywhere. Loud pfftt when opened. Aromas are of tart oak barrels, Brettanomyces is very present. Slight Belgian funk also. Fresh cut hay in the background. Flavors are of tart Granny Smith apples, Brett, slight oakiness, and barnyard flavors as well. Not quite horse blanket, thank God. Crisp, tart, refreshing. Leaves a clean palate. Fizzy, effervescent, dances on your tongue. Hides it’s alcohol very well. Clean aftertaste, slightly apples in the finish. Good beer overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy golden body with a huge head. Was kinda fun to see how high I could get the head above the top of the glass, I think I managed about 2 inches. Anyway, aroma is spices, peppers, and lighter fruits. A hint of caramel and vanilla. Flavor is mostly the same, but... there’s too much friggin alcohol. A few sips felt more like 15% and not 8. Could use better balancing, but even then it’s not that tasty. Bleh

"Poured a cloudy golden color nice fulffy head. Aroma was of some barnyard funk. Flavor was some pepper and sour, but still some kind of sweetness to it. Solid mouthfeel. Pepper finish. "

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
draught. the pour is murky orange-brown with a small bubbly white head. the aroma is very fruity with tart green apples, grapefruit, pear, and of course the funkiness I’ve come to love. This one is very wild and gueuze-like I think. orange and apple fruit flavour along with bread and a good chunk of hop bite in the finish. refreshing and interesting to no end.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at MI brewer’s guild fest- Sparking golden pour erupts a foamy white head of the medioum sized persuasion. Bartlett pears in the aroma, with brett, and yeasty fruit esters floating all about. Oak/woody flavours with yeasty tartness, and some fruit sweetness to balance. Good. Has some witbeer qualities in the finish. Had this one near the end of the fest, so my notes are not as detailed.
