Cloudy, pale yellow, good carbonation from the bottle conditioning. Citrus aromas accompanied with some dry malts and oak. Refreshingly tart. Good malt base with spicy, fruity accents. The alcohol becomes slightly more apparent as it warms, but mostly stays out of sight. Tart finish with a fruity malt sweetness and slight hop dryness that stays around. Complex and easy to drink. Batch #261 & #369

Bottle, batch 1119/1146, enjoyed 2 years after bottling. Pours hazy light yellow, with a creamy head. Aroma is really nice fruity yeast and brett, with kandi, as well as some hoppy notes. Creamy body, with average carbonation. Flavour is tart with wooden brett and sweet citrusy lemon. Lingering, fruity tart finish.

Clear brilliant golden with a thin white sticky head. Lovely sour twang on the nose with apricot and sour oak barrel and gentle lacto greenness/juiciness (guava?). Smooth and dry and tart flavor with guava, apricot, nice lasting yet gentle sour lacto/bacillic flavors, a kiss of oak, and semisweet blonde tones. Nice fruitiness throughout. And just the right amount of tartness. Really something.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2015 Bottle. Light amber pour, minimal head, minimal lacing. Aroma is funk, citrus, hay; subtle. Taste is slight sour, some funk, hop bitterness, lemon. Finishes slightly sour and bitter and lemony. Light, yet complex. Somewhat like Orval, maybe less dry and more complex. Definitely cellar material. Odd, but good.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clean golden champagne color with a white foamy head and solid lacing. The scent is lemon pepper, flowers, honey, banana, and oak. The great mix of lemon, bread, pepper, apricot, floral notes, and earthy funk is awesome. Carbonated perfectly with a full mouthfeel and dry finish with some lingering sour notes. Really enjoyed this Belgian - Franco style.

Probably my favorite of all the jolly pumpkin beers. A belgian wth bold flavors and a little twist of lemon and some sour. All the pieces come together nicely, a must try for anyone.

Very sour, acidic lemon aroma. Taste is also fairly sour, with some taste of pepper and a lingering but subtle bitter bite.

Getting pear and a sour/tart smell. Pour is a very light golden/straw color with no real head, and a very thin lacing. Tasting pear, tartness, sourness. A bit of spiciness at the end (like a pepper spice....slight tingle, not overpowering). Not getting any oak taste, but the mouthfeel at the end is the only indication that this could be oak-aged. I did not enjoy this for the first 1/4 of the bottle. After I thought of it more as a cider/pear riesling, I upped the taste ranking a bit. I don’t think I will try this again. This is not what I expected as a Belgium Strong Ale, and overall not too keen on it.
