A: The pour is a clear golden-copper color with a nice white head and some mild lacing. S: The nose is quite fruity and almost tropical. A nice blend of sweetness and tartness, with tons of melons (cantaloupe and honey dew come to mind right of the bat). There are some notes of white grapes, pineapple, and a good lemon note. T: The melon flavor is impressively powerful. It provides a nice sweet note to the beer and combines wonderfully with the tart and lemon notes. Some nice apple, grape, and funk to this beer as well. M: The body is medium, maybe a bit on the heavy side for a wild ale, but still refreshing and nicely carbonated. D: I was a bit disappointed by the Perseguidor 5, but this was very, very good. This has flavors that I haven’t often picked up in beers that I’ve tried, and I really enjoyed them.

Sampled from the bottle at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured a hazy gold with sediment on the bottom and a small white head. Aroma had some nice brett funk with an undertone of sweet and sour fruits. Flavor was a nice combination of sweet and sour fruits with a bit of an undertone of funk.

Bottle courtesy of AmEricanbrew. The look is cloudy, orange in color, with an off white head. The smell is tart, fruits, wood, oak, very nice. The taste is fruits, light tartness, and tart. Little dry. Lots of good things going on.

Rusty orange and hazy. The usual heavy webbing jp foam. Aroma is spicy, grassy, and with lots of wooden barrel sour funk. Bolstering it is a buttery or creamy chardonnay like sweetness. After the glass warms for a bit the sweetness of cherries and citrus starts to envelop it, and i can smell how dry its going to be with aromas of sesame seeds and cardamom.

Flavor is a lot of dry tastes; brown spices, pear, white wine; theres some almost garlic clove like sweetness that sits in brown sugar and cinnamon. The lactic acid and general tartness are definitely present but the warmth of the spiciness surrounds them. Sandalwood and an earthy sweetness of red fruits shows the richness of the malts and lets all the brighter flavors sort of dart fickly round the top of the beer instead of getting boring.

Crisp, acidic palate; busy yeasts give a dry and musky finish thats good and lasting. Not earth shattering maybe, but warm and pleasant; highly enjoyable to drink. Huge thanks to Derek for this one!
