The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

Bottled 07-30-2012: Light yellow color, slightly hazy, with a quickly diminishing fizzy white head. Aroma is citrusy and grassy and a little funky. Flavor has strong tart citrus and cherry, a bit spicy, and finishes clean with little lingering aftertaste. Good overall.

Rated on 5-15-2010 - Bottle and Batch 399/400. This beer pours a medium sized fizzy white head that mostly diminishes, hazy golden body, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is yeasty, funky, sweet, banana, and spicy. The taste is sweet, banana, spicy, and has a short dry finish. The palate is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer has a nice balance between the aromas and the flavors, but I am not a fan of Farmhouse beers.

In short: a sparkling wild ale.
Pours hazy bright gold, with little vanishing white head, good lacing. Tart, grapy aromas. Light body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is quite tart, fruity, malty, some off flavours.

Smells of Belgian yeast, citrus, grassy and a bit earthy. Very light and almost watery mouthfeel. Very slight tartness, but not very noticeable. Mainly a saison that is earthy and grassy and not quite full flavored enough to be great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear golden yellow. Highly carbonated. Head dissipates quickly. Wheat and yeast on the nose. Some sourness is evident also. Smells clean and crisp. Flavor is slightly sour and really nice. Great beer.

Unique and definitely more sour than Weizen. The aroma was sour and wheat with some citrus. It looked like a clear hefeweizen with a white head. Light and puckering mouthfeel, somewhat watery. Decent carbonation. Sour hits you first followed by wheat, lemon and yeast. It was OK, just not outstanding.

Bottle at home from alesela
very pale blonde with fine haze and low white head. V lively though, fobbed all over the place! At first some banana esters with a tart citrus note in behind with some basal earthy spice notes. Initial tartness but surprisingly remains full bodied, living up to the brief well - Gueuze this is not. Complex mix of citrus and lactic alongside wheat creaminess and spices. V enjoyable and refreshing beer.

05.01.2014. 0,75l Bottle. Spesialbutikken Vaaland. Golden yellow colour with white head. Very sour at first. Gers more smooth after a while. The first aroma I get is red current and raspberries. There is also wheat. . Very little bitterness beside the sour dry mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
