COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

Pours a golden transparent yellow with a small white head. Nose is lemon peel, vinegar, grapes, green apple, floral bouquet and barnyard. Taste is sweet and them is overwhelmed with a big mouth puckering sour wave and ends with a well balanced bitter and tart. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, light body with huge finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a mostly clear pale yellow color with a big fizzy head that lingers a bit. Aroma is mostly sour citrus but there are hints of banana and clove. Sourness overpowers a bit in the taste. I don’t really taste the hefeweizen flavors that are supposed to come through. Seems over-carbonated as well. This is ok at best but I’m also not a big sour person.

Another great brew from the best sour beer brewer in America. This is everything I had hoped it would be, displaying amazing character through its tartness. Definitely worth a try.

Draft to snifter at Dutch’s. Looks good; a hazy light-orange with white head. Smells good too; doughy and funky. Tastes nice; like it smells with a nice, light but tart and well-balanced mouthfeel. Much better than I remember it being, but I think I previously had it from a bottle.

On tap. Very white head, leaves loose lace. Very light hazy yellow color. Tart, like Jolly Pumpkin beers typically are, but it’s not at all over the top. Zesty sweetness shines through, too. Nice spicy aromas, clove, nutmeg, some banana. Nice, bright, light crisp carbonation, dry finish. Good german wheat aftertaste. Drinkable, refreshing, and tasty. Farm house style hefeweizen is a cool concept, and I think Jolly Pumpkin nailed it.

A hazed yellow ale with a thin collapsing white head. In aroma, smooth Brett, lemon pulp, wheat and light horseblanket. In mouth, an Orval like mix of malt and Brett lemon juice, very nice and smooth. Tasted June 16, 2012. Bieropholie import.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light golden color with the typical outlandish JP head and impressive lacing streaks. Aromas and taste were lemon skins, sugary apples, herbs, brett funk, clove, and some hay. A little too dry and peppery in the mouth. Not a huge fan of the way it finished either. I love JP, but this isnt one of my favorites from them.

Herbal metallic aroma. Hazy yellow colour. Taste is sour and tinny but interesting.

Very interesting! This has some typical weizen flavors, but with an assertive sour note from the wild yeast.

Pours a straw color with medium clarity and great rising bubbles. Big white foamy head that rides the beer for a few minutes. Aromas are bright and snappy; cereal, citrus, sour peach and just a touch of funky yeast. On the palate this refreshingly tart beer really delivers with quenching sour fruit, granny apples, lemon zest, and a good dose of wheat cereal malts to balance the flavors.
