Hazy pale straw gold with a huge, open white head maintained by ongoing effervescence. Leaves broad tracks of lace on the glass. Tenacious sour farmhouse yeast aroma, somewhat citric. I don’t find any of the banana or clove normally produced by weissbier yeast. Flavor is primarily tart and citric. Some worty grains and brettish creaminess develop towards the finish. Medium body, spritzy, somewhat creamy lingering mouthfeel. arrogantb (734), Denver, Colorado, USA

I have not seen this on the shelves in Colorado so I was happy to get this bottle. Nice cloudy yellow-white almost looks like a wit but more yellow. Tasty, funky and doesn;t remind me of a hefe. nice beer.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Updated: Sep 12, 2009This pours very light colored, yellow or lighter gold with a big fluffy white head. Not as much head retention as some other JP brews I’ve had but there was still lots of spotty lacing. The aroma is malty and grassy with some zesty fruits sneaking through. This tastes very carbonated, almost like seltzer. Flavors are spicy with sour tartness, some banana, cloves but very light. Didn’t pick up much oak. This beer is light and easy drinking with some funk. I like quite a few of their others more than this but this is still solid. blankboy (3263), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Bottle at ’Cole’s Rare Beer Fest’, Buffalo, NY. Pours a hazy, bubbly pale yellow with a small diminishing white head. Slightly sweet aroma with wheat, yeast, some light tart fruit and floral hops. Nice refreshing flavour is yeasty along with wheat and citrus fruit -- lightly tart and funky and with a dry finish. Nice carbonation. Very good stuff and a nice pleasant change after all the big beers at this festival! Dickinsonbeer (3604), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2009 On tap at BrewKettle. Pours a nice hazy very light straw yellow with a nice long lasting fluffy sticky white head. Aroma is instant JP funk with a doughy cream of wheat earthy maltiness - phenolic as all hell but still good. Clove and vanilla in the flavor- some hefe character along with the bretty and lacto funk from the house JP stuff, nice doughy wheat and a great dry crisp finish.
