4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled 6/2/2010. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a nice 2 finger foamy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some light spotty lacing clings to the glass, with some decent carbonation streaming up. Aromas of big tart apple, lemon zest, hay, grass, earth, herbal, wheat, pepper, clove, and funkiness. Excellent and well balanced aromas with nice complexity. Taste of tart apple, lemon, pear, herbal, grass, hay, wheat, pepper, clove, earth, and funk. Good amount of fruity tart acidity on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, apple, pear, hay, wheat, herbal, pepper, and funk on the finish for a good bit. Great balance of flavors with nice complexity. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a slightly slick and very crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with pretty much zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic farmhouse wheat ale. Great flavor balance and complexity; and extremely smooth and crisp to drink. Aged Jolly Pumpkin bottles almost always turn out awesome.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Citrus and sour aroma. Handsome pale yellow color and a coarse white head. A mild sour probably due to the wheat.

Bottle thanks to somebody, rating from my backlog. The look is cloudy, thick thick white head. The smell is wheat, citrus, fruits, and nice. The taste is a light tartness, fruits, citrus, and wheat.

Bottle from Corvallis Brewing Supply. Pours a very foamy golden color, aroma reveals tartness, cut with some spicy and funky character. Body very lively, finish slight spice. JP are great, and this is no exception.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft on tap at Local Option (Chicago, IL). Iím not exactly sure how Iíve never rated this. Love this beer. Pours a fairly hazy yellow hue, gentle harvest straw colors and firmer haze in the body meet a bright white cakey head atop. Sticks around as a firmer layer for me, decent lacing and stick around. Nice. Aromas show firmer brett, dry straw, grass and mellow funk. A touch of tart fruit meets the nose, melding well with some of the underlying fruity esters. Bread, a touch of dough, firmer brett hangs on. Just a wonderful melange. Initial isnít as vibrant as the nose let on, a bit bready and doughy, some ester fruit hits the palate off the bat, making the intensity or sharpness of the wild yeast elements fall back a bit. Gentle tartness, lemon and lactic yogurty feel starts to trickle in and grows slowly at a really nice pace. Funky brett meets as we hit the middle, dry and basement feel, some decent citrus rind and juice presence tarts this up, as the funk bring the power into the backend. A bit spicy and yeasty, the funk plays well, providing horseblanket and fresh cut straw, a pleasant tartness that really melds well with that wild element. Gentle fruit presence dances in and out, graint malts still provide a base. Just melds really well. Finish is dry, bretty, and some decent tartness tapers out. Just a lovely beer.
