Chocolate, raosted malts, raisins and some spiciness in the curious aroma. Very dark borwn and clear with ruby highlights. Low but lasting, fine bubbled tan head laces well. Cinammon, nutmeg spiciness melds with chocolate and fruity flavours with strong roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Interesting - almost a Christmas porter, but hard to finish a full 500ml. Bottle. Thanks, chris_o!

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 2/03/2012. Dark brown with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of coffee, milk chocolate and grassy hops. Flavour had some initial caramel, before more coffee notes and a gently bitter finish. Very good.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle thanks to Chris. Very dark red amber with a good tan head. Unexpected floral hops with udnerlying malt. Coffee notes are good, slight alcohol and spice. Bitter chocolate with a very slight sour note but I’m guessing that was down to the age of the sample. Old or not it went down well.
