Jan 7, 2007 Bottled. Orange golden colour, small white head. Aroma is strong fruit, earth and ashes in aroma. Some herbs and spices also noteable. Flavour is glueish fruits along with spices and herbs. A very different beer, surprising flavours. Refreshing and interesting, but flavourwise I didn’t like it too much.

Jan 6, 2007 Bottle Pale amber beer with a thin whitish head. Slightly sour citrus (lemon-lime) aroma with some spice. Low carbonation. Lemon-lime flavor with some wheat and herbal tones. Light mouthfeel because of low carbonation. I agree with below in that it reminds me a bit of a less sweet, lower carbonated sprite/beer mix.

Dec 27, 2006 (Bottled) Hazy yellow-orange color with a small, vanishing head. Crisp, sprite-like lemon-lime-herby rosemary aroma. Lime-fruity, lightly herby-coriandery, somewhat dish-washing-liquidy flavor with a peppery finish. Light to medium-bodied, quite low-carbonated palate. A different brew, sure, but not as good as the best witbiers. Still pretty refreshing and interesting overall.

Dec 15, 2006 Well, admittedly this is the first time I’ve had a gruit beer or something close to this. I did find it enjoyable, althought different. Isn’t that what we all look for in our seach for beer? An aroma of fresh flowers and burnt candle wax. A taste of ginger, herbs, apples and some other things I just couldn’t place no matter how hard I tried with a funny watery mouthfeel. This was really different. Good, but different.

Nov 27, 2006 Bottle at home. Smooth ale with wide fruit, lemony bouquet. The Gruit is interesting. Texture cloudy. Little head.

Nov 20, 2006 Hazy gold/bronze, disappearing off white foam. Nose of full spectrum (light to dark) past ripe fruits, crisp citrus, wheat, sweetness. Interesting. Same flavor with more spice, lemon accents. Smooth, medium body would benefit from more gas. Unique brew.

Nov 18, 2006 A real surprise, very much in the style of belgian Wit, but with extra spice to account for the lack of hops, crips and refreshing, a perfect hot summer pre-dinner drink.
