Flavour is similar, fruity and malty but also quite watery. This tastes much like ’Herbal Essences’ shampoo smells. A strange concoction. argo0 (6891), Washington DC, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 29, 2005 (12oz bottle) Particulate-filled murky amber body topped by quickly dissipating medium off-white head. Aroma is mild sweet, cardemom, light orange peel, light herbal, pepper. Taste is medium sweet, cardemom, orange, honey, light herbal. No bitterness evident. Watery light body. Not bad, but then again, it has nothing that would make me inclined to drink it again. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA

Code of 16DC on back lable. rusty color with head that dies, leaving some stingy lace. Smells like a Brach’s Butterscotch candy. Exactly. Drinks with some hints of sour oragne apricot and butterscotch again. Ends up thin and somewhat astringent or metallic almost with some orange peel notes.. Very lazy bubbles flowing in it. Maybe a tradition not worth keeping. Still, not at all the worst thing I’ve ever had. As it breathes that butterscotch dies off, leaving behind a lot of orange peel and a farily refreshing beer. Not a fan of the butterscotch. Kinz (2202), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA

Very slight horse aroma, hard to describe as not at all like a lambic. Whiff of sage. Slight sour start, a bit astringent, fades into soft citric note, along with some chervil herb notes. Interesting, but not something I would reach for again. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Coriander More then Likely. A Bit Odd..but Then Traditionals Like that as a Calling Card. Enjoyable in Either Case. badgerben (3596), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Oddly metalic and citrus nose with a bit of breadness as well. The taste is quite strange, not like the other gruits I’ve had. A little blueberry and corriander, I thought. Not bad, but certainly strange. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Oct 16, 2004 Floral hops are overwhelmed by huge butterscoth diacetyl aroma. Opaque copper coloured with thin, white fully diminishing head. Very short, sweet caramel flavour. Watery body with an oily texture and high gassy carbonation. Will need to resample as this can’t be right - then again, at least one of us enjoyed it somewhat. Bottle - a disappointing butter-bomb sampled with MartinT and Rastacouere at Spuyten Duyvil (Brooklyn, New York). MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
