When I opened the bottle and put my nose on the opening to smell, I thought this must have been a mistake, for its aroma was very imperial ipa-ish. Very fruity and floral with lots of peach, lychee and pineapple. The colour is very dark brown, clear, with a nice beige head. Taste is again really fruity. Quite sweet, with a decent hop bitterness. Good body and carbo. Great beer, but in no way a barley wine

Gedronken bij en dankzij joes, is ruby van kleur met een witte schuimkraag. Ruikt zoet, wijn. Smaakt ook zoet, drop.

Bottle thx to joes. Ruby colour with a small off-white head. Smells a bit menure, sweet.. Weird. Tastes hoppy, sweet, bitter. A bit thick. Low to medium carbo, medium body.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a deep amber glare and a small tan head. Aroma is smooth dark malty and roasted caramelish. Smooth liqourice and dark malty flavoured. Light alcohol presence. Smooth malty and dense caramelish into the finish. Light phenolic note from back of the nose. Ends smooth dark malty and distinct bitter to counterbalance the sweetness.

On tap, pours a opaque, mahogany brown with a lacing, white head. Nice, sweet aroma, caramel, raisins, coconut, dried fruit, light citrus. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, raisins, rum, cane sugar, orange peel, light pine. Full bodied, lightly bitter finish.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2012 Re-rate July 24th 2012. Bottle thanks to Joes. Dark red color, opaque, small off-white head. Smell malts, some hops, some alcohol. Taste malts, some sweet-bitterness, some alcohol, slight hint of hops. Medium carbo, medium body. [old score: 8-5-8-4-16=4.1 Been awhile since I rated this. Do remember I liked it very much though. Really nice dark color, might be my perfect color though you never know what you run into. Taste is fine, remember good carbonation for a 10.5ABV beer. Strong, but nice one to finish the evening.]

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick dark brown color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a roasted malty touch . This beer smells to caramelly.

On tap at the ’ t Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Good cream coloured head. Light palate, a little dry. Creamy dark malt, slightly salty licorice. Some sweet cherry and red fruit underneath. Trace of dark chocolate. Bitter hop fruit with a trace of bubblegum. Delicious!

Bottle. dark brown color. Dried fruit in the slightly burned maltaroma. Sightly alcoholic malty sweet flavor, with some burned flavors and earthy, grassy hops. Almost full bodied. Quite OK.
