Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig malzig, sehr hopfig. Geschmack leicht hopfig, fruchtig malzig, exotische Früchte.

light beige head leaves some lacing. amber coloured. aroma lot like a barley-wine, probably due to oxidation, vanilla, citrus, malty and caramel. taste like aroma with a pronounced bitterness. medium body and carbonation. not that bad given it’s expired. bottle 33 cl / bbf feb-2014

Bottle. Dark golden, cloudy, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, caramel - light bread with some tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and some tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel - light bread with light tropical fruitiness, grapefruit - light citrus, light alcohol. Caramel sweetish IPA with notes of bread. Alcohol in the finish slightly dries up the sweetness. Too sweet for me.

Bottle from Beernavigatie. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is resin wood light hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth yeast resin hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A typical Dutch IPA but not really a typical IPA at all. The yeast just isn’t right for an IPA. It’s like a watered down Belgian strong ale with some extra hops. There are some Dutch brewers who have brewed great IPA’s but others need to revisit the drawing board.

Douberd (2285) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - DEC 27, 2013
Bottle 330 ml at home, ABV 7%. On the bottle says Pacific Jade hops were used. Into a tulip. Deep orange colour on the body, very cloudy. Almost two fingers of off-white head with good retention. Medium lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, biscuit, malt. Very nice and refreshing taste, very bitter too. From the first sip, all the way to the finish, an intense bitterness with long duration. Light citrus flavours, grapefruit, a bit of biscuit, orange peel on the finish. Medium thin body, good carbonation, extremely dry on the palate. Overall very good beer! I was expecting something mediocre at best, seeing it’s brewed for a liquor store but it did exceed my expectations. Great!

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber beer with a frothy white head on top. Aroma is mildly on the hoppy side, with light grapefruit characters and some yeasty aspects. Flavour is moderate bitter and quite juicy with a medium dry bitter finish. Lasts fairly long. Decent brew.
