33cl bottle @ home from Melger’s, Haarlem. Dark brown color, large rocky brownish mostly lasting excellent lacing head. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, dark coffee, dark chocolate, light herbs, light leather. Taste heavy bitterness, hint of salt and umami. Medium to full body, slick texture, soft carbonation, very long lasting roasty bitter finish. Simple and delicious beer, not very unique but I like it.

33cl bottle from Secret Santa 2014. Dark brown with a light brown head that mostly disappears. Light roasted malt with hints of vanilla wafers, coffee, milk chocolate and some caramel. Mild body and carbonation, slightly bitter, so so.

330ml bottle [as "Hans Klaver", part of the Bekenesserkerk series]. Darkest brown colour with thick, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Dark malty aroma with an odd, somehow perfumed nuttily touch, some green wood. Taste is initially dry dark malty, minimally roasty, later slightly fruity with subtle sweetness, hints of red berries and raisins, a nuttily touch, hazelnut pellicle, green wood; dry finish, slightly prickling carbonation.

33cl bottle. Aroma reminds me of Guinness. Deep black colour with a white top. Taste is dry, somewhat metallic. Quite a good stout.

Dark black beer with a very weak off-white head. Roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate are the flavours that dominate this beer (as a stout should be). A dry aftertaste wher a note of dark fruits can be recognised. Pretty good beer, for a stout.

Dark black beer with beige head. Foam very weak with coarse structure. Aroma rather thin. Taste of dark chocolate and coffee. In the background dark fruit and a real stout bitterness.

Tap tasted on 03/05/2014. The colour is excellent but the head is not creamy enough for a stout. The aroma and the taste is nice with chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and light caramel. Perhaps the carbonation is a little higher. Next one please!

Pours with a nice head formation and pleasant lacing. Aromas are a bit shy, with notes of dark fruits, caramel malt and coffee. Taste has got some nice toasted coffee bitterness and dark chocolate. Robust dry stout, high drinkability!

Pours out of the bottle in a deep black colour with low creamy head and smooth body. Aroma of vanilla and malt. Taste of intense malt, torf, dark berries, ripe pears, vanilla and caramel. Dry and light watery finish. Nice one but nothing spectacular.
