Bottle 330ml. Very interesting stout. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, and dark fruit. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and long length. Palate is velvety, ticklish, and medium bodied. Black, with a frothy white head.

I had this on tap in Amsterdam. It took 5 minutes to pour and had the most beautiful head I have ever seen. It was rich, malty, and chocolaty. I drank a lot of good, mainly Belgian, beers in Amsterdam and this one was probably my favorite.

Thick, creamy head. Bitter, roasted aroma. Rich, silky texture. Bitter and dry on the tongue. Hints of coffee, cocoa and liquorice come through and a faint hint of smoke.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 suprchunk (1065) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - FEB 26, 2011
Dark, almost black. Thin tan head that leaves behind considerable lacing.
Caramel, roasted barley. Raisiny aroma mixed with some other dark fruits.
Big roasted flavor. Sweet, and bitter at the same time. Coffee and toffee. Great extra stout example. A bit of a hoppiness in the aftertaste.
Creamy and dry. Leaves a bit of bitterness from the high amount of roastiness in it. A bit warming.
Very drinkable for an extra stout. I don’t think I would tire of this during the cool weather. Great beer.

This was the first Jopen beer I’ve ever had and its still one of my favorites. Dark brown color with a thin off white head. Coffee aroma and flavor with some dark fruit and a bit of foot at the end.

Bottle. Pours very black with a foamy tan head that leaves lacing. Aroma of bread, coffee, roasted malt, and some spices. Flavor is watery with roasted malt dominating while still being full bodied and with a bitter finish. Nice balance, easy drinkable.
