Best Kolsch styled beer in the NL, refresing aroma in the nose of malts and hops. Just a little sweet buttery nutty nose. Taste is wonderfull, and it starts nutty sweet and end nutty bitter, which lingers on and on and dries out your mouth. The aftertaste is present for a long time in the back of your mouth, and throat. For beer lovers who like real easy drinkable bitter beers.

On tap. Light hazy golden yellow with medium head that retained. Very nice, low carbonation with an upfront bitterness that fades. Light belgian yeast flavours. A nice long, dry finish. I really enjoyed this.

Light brown and cloudy body with medium white head. Belgian yeast, very fruity, grains. Fairly tasty but uninspiring. Finish has a metallic dryness that I’m not to fond off. Low carbonation makes it pleasantly smooth though, even on the low abv. (33cl bottle, 2,00 EUR)

On tap at Wildeman. A blond beer made especially for the Jopen Festival 2009. Perfectly clear orange body with a nice tall head. A very sweet nose. Tastes sweet with a slight tase of ginger. Also malts in there. A pretty good balanced beer. Nice one.

Fles 33cl Kleur: Helder goudgeel met een flinke witte schuimkraag. Geur: Licht zuur, hop. Smaak: Licht bitter, maar ook zoet (suikerspin). Fris. Gemiddeld koolzuur

Okay beer. Easy to drink due to the low ABV. Smell is a bit dissapointing, taste makes up a bit for it.

On tap at Jopenkerk, Haarlem on 4 April 2011. Gold colour. Thin white head. Decent hoppy bitterness. Very refreshing. Straightforward but an excellent Belgian style session beer. Reminded me a little of Taras Boulba.

Bottle bought in Netherland. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. moderate malty and hopy and yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter nice flavor. Average heavy bitter finish. Oily palate. Exstremely well-balanced belgian ale especially regarding the low ABV.

Bottle that I picked up from a Mitra off licence, Amsterdam, 29.09.11 consumed at Isobels, Eardisley, Herefordshire, 14.10.11 Pours gold with a slim white head. There is a nice hoppy nose to this, hops also in the mouth. This has a nice light fruitiness with a streaky sweetness, in fact there is a slight lagery feel to this beer which I also like, its refreshing. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Small white head over pale orange beer, slightly veiled. Intense maltnose, followed by caramel, as from candi sweets. Gradually some herbal/garden herbs’ aromas waft up. Though there is indeed a malts, even grainy presence in the background, the taste gets absolutely dominated by an outspoken bitter (hop)flavour. Warming up, the bitterness gets rounded, revealing flavours as from garden herbs, parsly, toasted barley. Finish is a bit cheesy. Medium bodied, not very carbonated, slick. Certainly not Jopens’ worst. Are we going to see finally Jopen from Holland, now, justifying the bimonthly PINT-commercial info?
