Oh tristesse !!

Bottle at a big tasting (Nördprovning 2015). Smell of dried fruit, raisin and roasted sugar. Taste of dark malts with some light roasted aromas. Thin body. Nice smell but the taste was bland. I wasn’t aware how old this was when I tried it. It was probably better when fresh.

Bottle, cheers to wyzzywyz22! Poured a dark brown with a thin to no greying beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, toast. Flavour is more roasted malts, coffee, mild citrus hop flavours. Drinkable and all that, didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

Sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade, fruchtig hopig. Geschmack röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffee, fruchtig bitter.

Bottle 33cl. Black wit an off white head. Little aroma, but hints of hops and chocolate. Strange combination for an IPA, but the chocolate is as well present in the taste. Nice bitter finish. Maybe I expected more, but it is not as special I thought.

Bottle, De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Nigh on black pour with a small beige head. Aroma was roasted malts, liquorice and citrus hop. Similar flavour with some burnt character and coffee notes. Dried out in the finish. Not the most complex offering but perfectly drinkable.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Thanks to Black IPA hound Colin for this one. Opaque brown beer with a little pale tan head. Light crisp palate. Slightly bitter dark malt with a little coffee and cream. A little bitter pine on top.
