Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a medium tan head and an aroma of fresh hops, citrus, pine and caramel. The taste is high on hoppy bitterness with some espresso bite, black chocolate and maybe some caramel. A nice long bitter finish. A very nice beer!

Bottle 33cl. Black wit an off white head. Little aroma, but hints of hops and chocolate. Strange combination for an IPA, but the chocolate is as well present in the taste. Nice bitter finish. Maybe I expected more, but it is not as special I thought.

Bottle, De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Nigh on black pour with a small beige head. Aroma was roasted malts, liquorice and citrus hop. Similar flavour with some burnt character and coffee notes. Dried out in the finish. Not the most complex offering but perfectly drinkable.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Thanks to Black IPA hound Colin for this one. Opaque brown beer with a little pale tan head. Light crisp palate. Slightly bitter dark malt with a little coffee and cream. A little bitter pine on top.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, from an IP trade with Jan of bignumbers, 13/11/13. Light black with a moderate faint tan covering that clears to a film and edgeing. Nose is treacle toffee, light roast, cocoa, jammy dark fruit. Taste comprises light roast, earthy cocoa, hint of tropicals, jammy fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry roast finale. Mediocre for style but drinkable enough.

Bottle thanks to Colin at his 5K tasting. It pours deep brown with a small light tan head. The nose is varnish, pine, roasted malt, earth and bread. The taste is roasty, earth, toast, dirt, varnish, treacle and light citrus with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Easy drinking and straightforward.

Bottle cheers to Colin. Pours a clear, moderate brown with a small, khaki head on top. Nose is melted caramel focus, pistachio, slight booze, and chocolate brownie. Mild citric zest, quite tangy, and very nutty. Soy like notes, not overly sweet. Mild grassy hops in the taste. Not bad

Bottle shard at Bruce’s in London - big thanks to Colin. Pours clear brown with a froth tan head. Bready and lightly toasted malts in the nose, touches of orange. Medium sweet flavor, some bready malts, mild leaves, dirt, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, burnt leaves, burnt toast, some rindy citrus. So so.
