Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured black with a huge tan head (it did not agree with a hand pump engine). Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and caramel. Very full, smooth mouth feel. Initial flavours of molasses, liquorice and dark fruit. Turns to burnt malt, espresso and a little dark rum.

Whoah, this one has a lot of differentes tastes. Dry and roasted, dark fruits, rauchmalt and of course the hops. The Nelson Sauvin gives it a special touch. Make sure you take your time to recover.

Poured a very dark reddish brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of lightly rauched sweet malt. Medium body, flavour of sweet malt and seaweed, the roasted malt is muted in this and the aftertaste, which is light smoke. Nicely done.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Keg at Beer Temple - Amsterdam. Pours black-brown with a creamy, brown head. Rich roasted malt aroma with moderate chocolate, all-around dark malts, raisins. Medium to big sweet flavor with good roast, just hints of smoke, ripe dark fruits, ash, more raisins, light meat, dry earth. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with burnt wood, restrained roasted malts, light bitter cocoa, dried fruits (especially raisins), very light leather, burnt sugar. Very good stuff, super well balance, not overly sweet or smokey. Great beer.
