COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, light beige/brown head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, light liquorice, laurel, hard roasted malts, alcohol. Flavour is sweet, hard roasted malts, oak, vanilla, light fruity, liquorice, coffee, firm roast and woody bitterness with light pine hops in the finish. Medium-bodied, smooth. Good stuff.

330 ml bottle, poured into a snifter. Bottle 1144/2850. ABV 9% Black colour on the body, with half a finger of brown thick head on top.Low retention, no lacing left on the glass. Chocolate on the aroma, stronger notes of coffee and some alcohol notes The taste follows the aroma, only now is the chocolate flavour stronger and the coffee’s one becomes more notable on the aftertaste. Lightly bitter. Just a tiny hint of the alcohol. Quite thick body, good amounts of carbonation. Nice beer, even better when it starts to warm up a bit.

Bottle provided by Borresteijn. Pours opaque black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is first fruit drop sweet with vanilla notes. Then comes the roast and chocolate. The flavor is deep roasted with notes of chocolate, wood, oat and licorice. Long roasted finish. Great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark brown body and small creamy tan head. Lots of milk chocolate, red berries, light booze, very refined yet rich. Very nice mouth feel, smooth yet filling, foamy. Lacing your tongue worth chocolate boozy goodness. Very nice roasted malts. Still room for improvement, but a great sipper already. Perhaps the alcohol shines through a bit too much. Great chocolate malts though. (33cl bottle traded with Rob)

Black with decent brown foam head. Aroma is liquorice, coffee, vanille and wheat. Taste initial is weak, coffee, barley, some grass, floral turning into strong bitter cold coffee. Aftertaste is quite long lasting, cold coffee.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Countbeer. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy beige head. Sweet oaky nose atop some sweet roast. Rich body, sweet roast, sweet oak and sufficient balancing hops. Great! Reminds me of a straight American barrel-aged Imperial Stout. 060413
