COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ingredients: pale-, amber, rye, wheat-, wheat-roast-, rye-roast, carafamalts, candy sugar. Hop: EK Goldings; whirlpool hop: EK Goldings and Admiral hop. Aged on new American oak.

Bottled from Drinks & Gifts, BB Jan 2015, large sample, served in a TeKu. Dark brown color, medium frothy light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, slight licorice, coffee, vanilla, oak wood, some red fruit, quite some chocolate. Medium sweet in taste, low to medium bitterness, slight dry, slight alcoholic. White oak gives vanilla notes, but also makes it a bit dry. Quite nice stuff.

33cl bottle @ home from Melger’s, Haarlem. Nearly black color, medium massive brownish head with good lacing. Aroma dark fruits and roasted malt in the nose, flavor is licorice, medium roasted coffee, dark fruits, roasted malt, toffee, bonbon. Light sweetness, heavy bitterness, hint of sourness just like some sort of coffee’s sidetaste. Full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, medium lasting coffeeish bitter finish.

33cl Bottle. Appearance: Pours black with a tanned head of 2 fingers. Good retention. Aroma: overripe cherries, oak, walnut, vanilla and a hint of coffee. Taste: Sweet cherries, oak, and a little bit of Laurus nobilis and licorice in the finish.Odd fruity sweet and mildbitter for a Russian Imperial stout. medium body, oily texture, below average carbonation. Bit Jopen sweetish oak + fruity hops, allhough here it works ok.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a small beige head and an aroma of roasted malts, espresso, cacao, sweet spices, wood, overripe fruits and syrup. The taste is medium to heavily sweet with complex roasted and some bitter notes. The finish is long and bitter with some roasty and spicy notes. Really nice!

Pitch black, beige creamy head. Aroma and taste are full of milky coffee, chocolate, vanilla, cognac and roasted malts: very rounded but full of flavour. Aftertaste lingers long, quite dry. As it warms, it gets more roasted and bitter. Full body, oily and soft mouthfeel, low carbonation. Again, a very good beer from Jopen.

33 cl bottle @ home. Almost black color. Big off white head with fair retention and lacing. Aroma’s: oak/vanilla, a bit roasted malts, a bit toffee-ish sweetness. Retronasal there’s lots of oak, some fruit as well. Flavor is moderate sweet, with fruity sourness, some drop, roasted malts. Body is rather full. Long finish with roast, ash and moderate bitterness. Pretty good.

Body is medium
