A White Oaked Russian Imperial Stout aged with American Oak.

Bottle at the chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours rich brown with a fine, tan froth. Moderately sweet, with plenty of dark malt character, some booze, bread, mellow earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more earth, burnt dark malts. Simple imperial stout.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s medium brown with a small head. Pretty papery, oxidized nose. Knackered roasted grain. Cocoa. Little else, not particularly expressive or inviting. The taste is similarly underwhelming. Cardboard, chocolate-covered apples. Hot wood. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Overall, I wasn’t keen on this.
