A White Oaked Russian Imperial Stout aged with American Oak.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s medium brown with a small head. Pretty papery, oxidized nose. Knackered roasted grain. Cocoa. Little else, not particularly expressive or inviting. The taste is similarly underwhelming. Cardboard, chocolate-covered apples. Hot wood. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Overall, I wasn’t keen on this.

Imperial stout with strong notes of dark roasted coffee and wood. Yet despite of the dominant tastes, it still has a nice softness. Well balanced and delicious beer.

Taste comprises dark fruits, bready malts, light roast, brown sugars, light chcocolate. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry roasted finale. Ok stuff but low down the list of impys!
